In:
Happy with the players signed. Mac A and Szobo look boss.

No cb or rb cover, also no real dm.

out:
didn't move adrian and thiago, sad.

got lucky as arabs came in for hendo and fabs to take expensive underperformers away,

7,5

Gone with 6.

Endo sticks out like a sore thumb in our team sheet at the moment. Time will tell on him but obviously not one of our top picks and not a long term option.

Nothing has been done in defence.

The best I could give it was a 7/10.

The good:

- We bought 4 midfielders. 3 CM's and 1 DM.
- Three of them young with potential. Could turn out to be somewhere between top class and world class.
- Got a decent price for most of them.
- Sold Fabs and Hendo, two declining players and got over £50 mill for them. Amazing business.

The bad:
- No marquee signings. Szobo probably being the closest, but it's not Bellingham
- Replaced Fabs with a 30 year old DM, It's not ideal.
- Did not buy a CB and/or a right back, leaving us a bit short in defence.
- Left it late and bungled the DM replacement signing

Summary:
If we made a marquee signing, bought a top class DM and CB in addition to Szobo and Mac, it would have been a 10/10 window for me.

I've said it elsewhere, but it could be anything from a 4 to 7 depending on if there's an injury crisis at CB and completely unknown factors like the impact of Endo and Gravenberch.

I’ve had to deduct a point given Maupay left the Bitters today….just gutted to see him leave…worst premier league striker ever.

I'm happy with the midfield retrofit, concerned about the backline, and we could lose Mo yet.

I'm concerned how we were caught off guard by the Saudis and still think we came off poorly in the Caicedo/Lavia debacle, even if we eventually got players who fit our needs.

Outcome: 8/10
Method: 3/10

Who was it that did that midfield player analysis at the start of the window? Was that @rurikbird

Let's review that fucker. Coz I want the lottery numbers off him.

Aye I'm close to that. For sure a 8/8,5 window but we did it like weirdos

7/10

Asked for a midfield rebuild and got it. I’m sure Endo will end up being a good reliable option for the next few years, the other 3 I’m excited about.

Shame we couldn’t have sold a few others, namely Thiago Gomez and Nat.

I’m happy with what we’ve done to a point. The reason I’m not letting off the fireworks is because it feels to me we’ve got to this outcome by more accident than design.

Two great Mids brought in but nothing at CB when it seems funds were available.

im ok with Endo covering DM as an idea, let’s see how it works

Gravy Boat can have his name back if he delivers on the promise the knowledgable people on the forum seem to suggest he makes

The thing for me, is that I think we've comfortably improved our options and our starting midfield.

But our issues last year and for a while have been that we are a bit of a top heavy team that doesn't seem balanced. Not just back to front, but right to left. Our attempts to address this last year seemed largely improvised, and I never had a sense that we really knew how we wanted to play, or that it actually made sense against stern opposition.

So now the list of players on paper is better, and that's good, but I don't think we still have the ingredients to play the formation we stumbled into last year. Nor do I think we are any closer to finding that actual solution. I think we lack some of the ingredients to do so, as well.

That's ok though, it might be over my head and not over klopps. I'd hope so!

Aye I'm close to that. For sure a 8/8,5 window but we did it like weirdos

To be fair, quite a few very rich clubs had a weirder and more shambolic window than us. Bayern, United and Real Madrid come to mind and there are a few others. Everyone is struggling to adjust to the new economic realities.

Same, more or less.

I’m very happy with MacAllister and Szobo. Gravenberch I think will be a good option too.

But, on paper, we seem to have failed to address our main issue.

If Klopp has some grand designs that will only reveal themselves to us plebs in due course then great, a 7-8 it is.

If we end up struggling, shuffling players here and there to plug holes then 4 is generous.

Said it the other day

Incomings 7/10 - just missing a LCB and a specialist DM

Outgoings 9/10 - Adrian not going is a big fuck up. Thiago maybe too.

Conduct - 2/10 - The whole Lavia, Caicedo debacle was embarrassing. Not to mention other teams know we have the cash if we want to spend.

Lavia with the small increments
Caicedo with the over the top bid with no chance of getting him.

Having to pay release clauses for Mac Allister (albeit a good one) and Szoboszlai does not fill me with confidence we can lower fees.

Overall 7/10

6.5 because of the slowness and pissing about after Hendo and Fab went. What the fuck were they doing and why did they not think about replacements immediately, especually the Fab one. The other point about the Caicedo bid, funny that came about when FSG Out was the biggest tremd on the internet. I also dont like the way we fucked around with Lavia, that was wrong.

In terms of the actual signings, there was really one signing I wanted most and that was Mac10, the rest I really did ot give a shit, mainly because I know I dont know better than Klopp and Co, other than to see the glaring holes in our team. So I am hoping the other 3 we have signed are the dogs bollox, I ccanot guage anything proper from the last 2 games because of the 10 men issue but the sending offs are caused by our defensive anxiety issues which I blame completely on Klopp who has had this entire summer to sort that shit out.

On Endo, I think he is a good player, but my impatience is affecting my judgement. So I ask you all, should we compare his play and judgement to how well Sangare/Ambrabat/Caicedo/Rice etc perform for their respective teams ?

Also if we sold Salah for 175M+ , I would have upgraded my score to 7.5, simply for the cash influx for selling a 31 year old.

I would rate our window 5/10 as we still have glaring issues.
Mistakes:
Renewing Adrian's contract
Not getting a 6 earlier in the window, and taking so long about it
Not getting a CB when our 3 out of 4 top CB are injured
Not getting a RB

What has been done well:
Purchases of our MF, I think Endo will be ace too
If they sell Salah, getting the Saudis to cough up €200m+

If part of the "grand plan" for Klopp involves bringing in Andre for £25m in January, then this window has been a 6.5. And it will become an 8, looking back, in January.

If we have no plans to buy a DM in January, then I have to say it's been a 6 (depending on how fit our CBs stay).

If they stay fit, it's a 6.

If they do not, and we're shuffling people around, it's a 3.

7 would have been 9 if we got a center back and a 10 if we got a center back and a right back also.

He takes up a place that could have gone to a defender
He doesn't actually because we won't even need to register the fucker.

In any case we've opted to go with a small squad (again) with only 16 non HG players so renewing Adrian has null effect.
