First time in history that all the Aussies are gone before the 3rd round.
Unbelievable really when you think of the great players they had over the years.

Anyways think that Novak will win the mens fairly easily,Nadal has struggled to live with Novak over the last few years(apart from clay of course).

For the women I had a small bet on Tamira Paszek at 100-1 who was superb in her warm up tournament at Eastbourne.
Hard to look past Sharapova really when she's in the form.

Paszek v Woz was a cracking match yesterday.

Woz was so sluggish around the court. She is overrated and overhyped.

Biggest upset in the history of a the Grand Slams.
14million sterling traded at 1.01 on betfair on Nadal.
Some seriously broke mugs on there tonight!
Fair play to Rosol his serve was superb under pressure but the tournament is Novak's to lose now.
Murray will never get a better chance to reach a Wimbledon final than this year!

Are tennis players possibly the most boring bunch of fuckwits in the world ? Especially the women , they are so dry and lacking in character it's ridiculous . Their interviews are so crap and they're so media trained it's completely taken over any of their original personality . The only ones that seem to have any character are the Williams and that American bint with the tattoo on her arm and the crazy costumes .

Maria Sharapova has hit out at Gilles Simon as women tennis players cranked up the criticism of the Frenchman over his claim that men deserve to be paid more because their game is more entertaining.

Simon caused outrage on Tuesday when he told a French radio station that he think men deserve bigger prizes for winning grand slams as their matches are far more interesting.

The 27-year-old stood by his comments yesterday when quizzed about the matter for the first time since his interview, but there was growing condemnation from within the women’s game.

World number one Sharapova offered the coldest rebuke when, after beating Tsvetana Pironkova in three sets, she said: “I’m sure there are a few more people that watch my matches than his...

“We women have fought so long to get equal prize money. It was a big challenge and nobody really supported us.

“It’s been a few years since we’ve got that. We’re all really proud of it, and we continue to build the sport and make it bigger, no matter what anyone says, or the criticisms that we get.”

Serena Williams, a four-time SW19 champion backed her rival’s claim, adding: “Definitely a lot more people are watching Maria than Simon. She’s way hotter than he is...

“Women’s tennis is really awesome. It’s a great fight. We fought for years with Billie Jean King, and Venus (Williams) as well (to get equal pay) and we really set the pattern on what we should do.

“I started playing tennis at two years old. I’m sure he started when he was two years old, as well. I worked just as hard as he did. I’m sure he continues to work hard as I work hard, as well as everyone that’s on a professional level.”

Britain’s Andy Murray also entered the debate, although he did not say whether he condemned or supported Simon’s view.

The Scot did claim, however, that some women on the tour can earn more money as the less physical three-set games allow the top females to play in, and win, doubles competitions as well as singles.

“For the women, it’s much easier to play singles and doubles, so (they) therefore (have) more chance to make money that way, because there’s very few of the singles guys that have a chance or a realistic shot of winning the event will be playing doubles here,” said Murray, who reached the third round of Wimbledon after beating Ivo Karlovic.

“At the French Open Sara Errani made the final in singles and won the doubles because it’s not best-of-five sets.

“It’s the same thing here (at Wimbledon).

“It’s five sets in the singles, five sets in the doubles (for the men), so even less guys are going to play (both).

“There’s things that we will agree on. It’s not always just about equal pay, it’s about the way the men’s and women’s tournaments differ.”

Should prize money not boil down to the interest in the sport and not just be about equal rights ? Like Male footballers earn way more than female as there is way more interest in the mens game . Infact i am struggling to think of many other sports, especially physical sports , where women earn as much as men but i am sure there are some . So if there is as much or more interest in the game , from fans to sponsors etc then they deserve the equal pay . Although for grand slams it is mad that the men have to work harder and longer to earn that money .

The men play five sets, the women play three. I'm fully in favour of equal rights, but if we're to have equal pay, I think there should be equal hours, too.

Ha....i agree with Del.

Women alway winge about getting the short end of the stick, but the end result is that it is the men who get a raw fucking deal and have to take it on the chin.

Murrays game last night was awesome. Must be tough being a great tennis player in the era or Nadal and Federer.

Yep. I feel for him, as I did Tim henman tbh, the English press treat both like failures when they're both the best British players since, well, Fred Perry?

It's mind boggling, Murray is am amazing player yet most people openly refer to him as 'shit'.

Murray's greatest problem is displaying his weaknesses and self doubt to his opponents. Every niggle is publically agonized over, every bad shot is an exercise in self-flagellation. That feeds the person on the other side of the net.

Cilic said something interesting after his marathon 5 setter against Querrey. When asked how he coped he said it was a matter of not letting his opponent see just how tired he was, how much he was hurting. Trying to give the impression he could go on and on. If Murray could learn that one lesson he has the game to be a major winner, no doubts about it.
