I hope Kenny is as shit as Rosco thinks Rafa was. Maybe he'll be a lucky chancer and we'll win things as we assemble a fantastic team.

He won't have any excuses though, if things go sour from there. Even if the entire club from top to bottom is threatened with financial destruction, and all money dries up, even if we end up in some horrific unprecedented game of brinkmanship involving lawyers, shit kicking faux cow boys and a major financial institution, we'll know where the sole blame lays.

hahaha

Mark, I'm responding to a summing up of what Rafa did at the club as taking a CL team and turning it into a midtable one. Inter Milan is totally irrelevant.

Rafa's legacy for Rosco is apparently turning us into a midtable side. Not for me.

I can't take it any more.
Given how fucking mediocre LFC have been for my entire life, why on earth would I take pains to erase my favorite memories of the club, which occured under Rafa, by drawing a straight line through it all from 4th to 7th. Of all the things to choose to ignore, for some reason Rosco elects not to ignore the almost total collapse of the club, but instead the part where we were a fucking MUCH better side than we are right now achieving great things. He ignores the universally hated assholes who almost destroyed the club, and instead heaps blame on the manager who got it wrong. And for some reason I'm the only asshole who gets annoyed by it.

And before anyone thinks I'm longing for Rafa back, I'm not. That chapter is over, but lets just leave it where it is, it was beautiful at times, and it got ugly and messy for a lot of complex reasons. In my book Rafa is a flawed character, but he sure as hell isn't the pantomime villain Rosco thinks he is.

Yep.

I just ignore him, some people don't know good times when they are slapped in the face with 2 Champions League finals, Ginsoak had to wait 19 years to get 2, we took a rollercoaster ride with Rafa to 2 in 3 years and I for one loved every fucking minute of it

Would it make you sick to know that the Newcastle starting 11 yesterday cost less than Andy Carroll?

I know, i checked it.

You're definitely not the only one. I suspect most people don't take him up on it because they know how futile the conversation is going to be.

yep. i think he's also probably hitting out a bit as it becomes clearer just how wrong he looks when rafa's time is seen in glorious retrospect....

For Ross the bottom line is the league, after all it is the bread and butter and with the advent of the CL top 4 that is more true than ever.

You are not alone. But remember Ross is a massive, and slightly bald WUM.

WUM or not , I would not disagree to be honest.
What we have, although from the selection on Saturday you would not think it, is some strength in depth again.
You just have to look at our bench these days against a Rafa bench to see the difference. What we are short of is two quality players, we need another striker regardless of how Carroll performs or does not, and we need a good wide man on the right. We also need fucking Downing to start performing and stop fucking around.
In short we are in a much better place than we were under Rafa, certainly in the last half of his reign, the green shoots are there , if we had a striker that formed a partnership with Suarez we would be very strong.

regards

we're much better off than in 2007/08 and 2008/09?

unless you're referring to our ownership situation and nothing else, that is absolute bilge.

some things on here i just can't quite fathom coming from a normally functioning brain, but hey ho.

I suspect Vlad he referring to Rafa's final season.

Personally I hate threads like this. We've had to completely start again both as a club and a team and that takes time. If we had spent wiser we could be further advanced than we are now, granted - but we've got a lot right, too.

If some of you need reminding: Bellamy and Enrique could easily be named amongst the signings of the season; Agger and Skrtel have developed into the fierce CB partnership we all hoped they could be; Both Skrtel and Lucas could be named amongst the most improved players in the league, and Suarez is brilliant footballer.

There's plenty to build upon and plenty to smile about.

rafa's last season amounted to 1/6 of his reign; the second half of his reign constituted 2007/08, 2008/09, and 2009/10.

so i hope for the sake of Vlad's maths skills he wasn't referring to his last season.

no you are right I fucking was not, get used to it Rafa was a fucking disaster, some people still can't see it or take it.

He was just lucky there was a bigger mutual enemy

oh, did I say fuck off?

I am entitled to express and opinion on here without an upstart like you jumping in and describing it a a pile of bilge, just because it treads on some misplaced sensitivities over Rafa.
Besides that I am right, our strength in depth is better than Rafa had it for several seasons.
Everyone agreed at the time we had a decent team , but a shit squad, and that was the way it was for a long time.

Fucking hell!

Asbo's swearing at people, Vlad's regards have been replaced by rants!

I think everyone needs to calm down a little bit & remember to address the points rather than insult the poster then address the points. People perhaps need to think about how aggressively they make their points too.

For example I wrote a pos the other day that said 'if you think that then you're obv thick or brain dead.' I changed it, so as not to offend anyone.

Maybe read your posts again before submitting them please, this goes for all posters.

Cool it down a little Vlad and Peter please.

And everybody cheer the fuck up. Rome wasn't built in a day

It's ok, chaps, I had the spat under control.

Seeing as Dave wasn't around.....*tuts*
