Luke Shaw or Maguire are probably their best options, but yeah, they don't really have a great option, which is the problem in a nutshell. We have four or five who you could give it to.

Certain pundits kept criticizing Amorim for his formation, but that's bull. They did ok in the 2 league games and were shocking in the cup. It's the same formation. The formation might ultimately not be good enough to get to where they want to be but it was certainly not the main reason for the defeat.
Some players were either shite or not bothered. You can't explain the performance by Onana and he can't control how the rest of them want to play as well. Who else is he supposed to play? The U-18s?

Ultimately, they've not got many good players. It wouldn't really matter what formation they played. Apart from Fernandes, Cunha and Mbeumo, who else is decent? Most of their players Dorgu, Diallo, Dalot, Shaw, de Ligt ... etc. they're all a massive bunch of meh. It's no wonder they struggle. Mid-table Prem is the best they can hope for with that squad.
Some of those players would be pretty good with the right manager. But if your keeper is shite…
