Malta 0-1 Israel so far..............................£5 lay of Israel to win £30

£15 lay of Romania beating Albania to win £12 (and the exact same bet for my other thread too).

I'm trying to do a bit of trading this week to get a "free" bet on Liverpool winning or drawing against the Scum.

I've layed £168 against United winning @ 2.44 because I think that price will rise during the week. If the price goes to 2.56ish I'll be able to back United to cancel my liability and still end up with a potential £12 profit on LFC/Draw outcome.
Not around much today or tomorrow so sold this bet @ 2.52 which cancels my liability on United winning and will give me a profit of £7 on LFC winning or the draw.

Tricky weekend ahead because I'm in Dublin for a school reunion of Friday night and in the pub for LFC v United on Saturday so my research time will be limited. Also, I will need to leave the oub immediately after our game to get back to hotel for the team news on the 3pm kick off - hopefully I'll make it in time.

I've layed Leeds tomorrow night against Doncaster and will try and check the team news before kick of BUT as long as Stock, Coppinger, Sharp , Friend and Martis all start I will stick with the bet.

£28 lay of Leeds winning at Donny to win £20* (I got the price of 2.4 yesterday, they're 2.44 now but it's a layable price all the way upto 2.56ish)

I didn't have much thinking time on Saturday so didn't have time to consider a 3% bet so my bank is now down to £402 after Friday's loss.

Target for Saturday........

-------------------3%----------------------------2%--------------------1%
Week 9-------£643---------------£402----£348-----------------£187

£100 over 1.5 goals in Millwall v Brighton game to win £43
£100 Bristol City not to keep a clean sheet at Palace to win £23
£50 Middlesbro not to keep a clean sheet v Forest to win £16.50

3 winners so profit of £78 which takes my total to £480 - I need £643 by Saturday to hit the 3% target.

I think Pesam is taking £100 and looking to increase the pot by 3% a day over the year.

Yep, starting off with a £10, and making 3% a day for a year and you end up with half a million or so. I think Pesam has modified it a bit himself, but the premise is the same.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the 3% a day challenge?
Hi Barry, this challenge is doomed to failure and not worth following - all the "decent" bets are in the other thread. This one will crash-and-burn sometime over the next week or so because 3% per day is impossible to achieve.
£50 bet on over 2.5 goals in Leicester V Watford game to win £40.
Not entirely convinced there'll be another goal so I've sold the liability in this bet............No loss on under 2.5 goals, £28 profit on over 2.5.

Correct, I've adapted the concept. It's impossible to win 3% per day because you end up having to bet on horses, tennis etc and nobody has that level of knowledge on such a wide spectrum of sports to last even a few weeks. To that end, there also aren't enough "certainties" Barcelona V Accrington etc to earn 3% per day so I've decided to try and average 3% per day (also impossible but slightly less impossible :). The international weekends have made sure I'm forever behind the target but I live in hope of either getting level with the target or die trying by the end of the month.
Not entirely convinced there'll be another goal so I've sold the liability in this bet............No loss on under 2.5 goals, £28 profit on over 2.5.
Quite pleased about this, 2-0 up at half time the bet seemed good but because Watford's main creative threat (Kightly) went off injured I couldn't see how Watford could score and therefore (correctly) guessed that Leicester would just hold on to what they had i.e. a 2-0 lead. I'm glad i sold the liability but in hindsight I should have sold more and could have ended up with a £21 profit on all outcomes.

I have a feeling Liverpool will feature in this challenge this weekend.

Good start in Wolves V Swansea game, end-to-end, so £25 bet on over 1.5 goals to win £10

Half time 0-2, £12 on under 3.5 goals to win £10

Edit: Still 0-2 with 20 minutes to go - sold the liability in the bet so £7 profit on under 3.5 and level on overs.

Bank up to £500.

I was trying to put £100 on over 2.5 goals Liverpool V Norwich but accidently put £200 on (I had been looking for someone to offer me 1.68 but forgot I had that bet in-waiting and later went and took 1.67, and then someone gave me the 1.68 as well!).

The good thing that has come from this mistake is that I sold the extra £100 @ 1.65 so have a better price of 1.70.

So the bet is £100 over 2.5 goals in LFC game to win £70.

I like the look of the Norwich line-up,very attack minded so I fancy us to win 4-1 or 4-2 so I've also put £10 on over 4.5 goals @ 5.0

Cue the 0-0 draw :-(

I'll update this later on but for the record I've put £350 on Crawley to beat Dagenham tomorrow night @ 1.44. I'm not sure to what end I've done this i.e. I might leave the bet stand as I need a big win to get me on track or I might sell some of the bet back at under 1.4 which I think the price will go to and try and get an average price of about 1.5.

Bad weekend on this challenge, bank down to £409.

I suppose the way to look at it is that the 3% target is proving very difficult to attain but I still remain ahead of the 2% target which would lead to over £100,000 if maintained. I'm going to keep trying to get back towards the 3% target but won't start losing faith until I start falling much behind the 2% target.

The target for next saturday............

-------------------3%------------------------2%--------------------1%
Week 10------£792----------------------£400------------------£201

Brighton 0-1 West Ham after 24 minutes......£70 bet on under 3.5 goals to win £20. I placed this bet just before West Ham scored, the price is even better now!

£50 over 1.5 goals Arsenal V Bolton to win £11
£36 lay of MK Dons winning at Sheffield United - liability £86

Right, I've left most of this bet running, so the bet is £249 to win £107 on a crawley victory.

The last 4 bets all won so my bank is back heading in the right direction @ £576, giving me an outside chance of getting near the 3% target in the next week.

Looks like it's going well Pesam, how many days are you into it now? About 60? i.e. one sixth of the way there...
Cheers Gerry. Saturday will complete week 10. As I've said before this challenge is doomed to failure because 3% per day is impossible unless there is a full set of fixtures every day throughout the year.

On the main betting thread I don't feel under any pressure but on this one there's always that fucking "target" taunting me. I don't want to lower my target to 2% even though that would garner over £100,000 for the year but realistically I'm going to have to face facts that I'll probably even fall behind the 2% target sometime before Xmas because I'm bound to hit a losing streak sometime soon (I do every season).

I'm going to keep aiming for the 3% target but if I end up turning £100 into £3,000 (which is the 1% target), I'd be delighted (and surprised).

Do you bet Gerry?

Yeah, the long term one is probably out of everyone's grasp. Not sure if you'd actually leave the money in there anyway once it got to big amounts, and would bet the huge numbers that you would to turn say 10k into 200k.

Yeah my biggest ever bet was £2,000 and I would seriously shit myself if I started betting amounts £10,000+ which I'd need to do if I want to keep the 3% target. The other problem is the lack of liquidity in the lower leagues. I'm OK at betting on the Premier League but my main focus is on the lower leagues and it would be difficult to find £5,000+ type bets on a regular basis. I'll worry about the consequences of my winning run continuing when the amounts start getting more serious.
