I'm giving this another bash this season although I'm starting with a full bank bet on us today as I really fancy us and a win will put me considerably ahead of the target and buy me some breathing space.

Starting bank £100

Bet 1 on LFC to beat Sunderland @ 1.47

I'm in.

£10 Start.

Started tonight with a £5 bet on Man City to win.
Sold the bet at 2-0 to win £2.14.

So bank at £12.05 - slightly ahead of target.

What was I thinking - I never bet on us when Lucas starts! I hate the bloody optimism that accompanies the start of every season - not that it lasts long though.

Good start Bryndaloo.

£100 laying Spurs to win £20

Edit: Day 1 - Bet 1 wins = Bank £120

Up to £13.66 against a target of £13.38 after winning £1.34 last night on a Cardiff Win (Bet sold at 2-0 to Cardiff).

£0.61 ahead of target.

This time next year Rodders...

This requires serious patience obviously
Patience and a lot of luck. The main problem is the pressure of keeping up with the target of 3% EVERY day. My plan is to keep the target of 3% per day in sight but not necessarily worry too much if I fall a bit behind as long as I'm in profit and the target remains catchable.

£20 lay of Macclesfield beating Bolton (Macc winning 0-1 when the bet was placed), to win £8

Edit: coolio, Bolton came back to win 2-1.

Bank @ £128 against a target for Day 3 of £109.

Another massive win last night - £0.40 on Exeter v Liverpool over 1.5 goals.

Bank at £14.06 against a target of £13.44.

Another £1.82 yesterday by laying Ireland scoring over 20 runs for their opening partnership.

Bank at £15.88 against a target of £13.84.

Next bet will probably be on the Challenge Cup Final tomorrow - quite like the look of Wigan -6.5pts half time handicap at just under Evens.
Need to see the teams first though.

Bank @£136 against a target for Day 7 of £123

£4 bet on under 2.5 goals in Forest v West Ham game to win £4.

£80 Lay Arsenal winning at United to win £10

Bank @ £142 against a target for Monday 30th of £130.

Hello pesam

Hi Dan, did you do over 4.5 goals in the Barca game last night?

I couldn't even focus on the match as I was destroyed by the Vodka/Slivovice combo on Sunday.

Bank up to £17.88 against a target of £16.05.

Took the Wigan -6.5 Half Time handicap on Sturday, but set it up to sell the bet at once the in-play odds got to 1.15.
So despite Wigan only holding a 6 point lead at HT, still got a small profit.

£1.83 ahead.

I did and I messed it up.

I went to sell the bet when it was at 3-0 but my bet was not matched so I tried again without realising that I was not updating the original unmatched bet. I ended up selling the bet twice meaning I was going to lose a lot if they did score more than 4.

I managed to save it by backing the +4 again but the odds were so poor by that point I had lost most of my profit. I did not lose any money but it was a nightmare because I could have won quite a bit.

Unfortunately I think everyone who uses betfair regularly has done that at one time or another, it's hugely annoying and can prove costly. I only just saw your message on FB about the Stockport game - I spend so much time concentrating on the lower leagues that I decided not to get involved in non-league as well because of time constraints.

I was very bored yesterday so I was looking for anything to play about with.

I layed against the draw in that game and then put the winnings on a danish reserves league game.

Danish reserve league game? I think you may have a problem.

I was just bored and it was the only game on.

I obviously did not know anything about the teams so I just put a very small amount on over 2+ goals. I won :p

Still keeping that winning run going? Maybe you need to start giving Andy some tips, I was around there yesterday and he was betting on every race from Downpatrick - he wasn't even sure who he was betting on and which horse was his but he was sure he was losing.

Lets see if you break my run.
Haha, run broken. It's not this thread that you should be checking out, this is the 3% challenge which is a bit of fun but doomed to failure. The "good" tips are on the thread "weekly bets season 2012".

Had a further £0.62 in the bank last night having succesfully traded out of a bet on Total Games under 24.5 in the Djokovic match yesterday.

Then that pesky Irishman he was playing pulled out with the squits, leaving my bets voided and no profit for the day.

Still on £17.88 against a target of £16.53.

It looks like you have carried this on from last season.

What is the idea of this then?

Quite simply, if you start with £10 and win 3% everyday after one year your balance is near enough £500,000. It looks easy enough in principle, after all a bet on United beating Arsenal would have increased your bank by 40%, but eventually you will fall prey to a freak result or two and it's almost impossible to keep up with the target. Last season I got £100 up to about £350 before stumbling (I start with £100 rather than £10 because I get bored easily).

What I am keeping in mind too is that at 2% per day you can still win over £12,000 from a £10 start and even 1% per day will lead to £360+. So my target is 3% per day but if the end of the year I'm up 1% per day on average I'd be thrilled. As things stand I'm still just ahead of the 3% target but it's early days and as I said yesterday I'm quite sure I'm doomed to fail.
