7 minutes gone Sunderland 0-0 Blackburn..............£100 under 3.5 goals to win £32

Just got home from Xmas tree shopping, I phoned in a £50 lay of Spurs at 2.04 just before kick off and so-far-so-good as they're losing 1-0.

Bank now at £1451, so I'm still way ahead of the 2% target but need a good week this week to keep the 3% target in sight.

Target for week 16..............

------------------1%--------------------2%-------------------3%
----------------£315------------------£918----------------£2699
Bank now at £1793. I seem steadfastly stuck between the 2% and 3% target which I'm not too distressed about but if I get one really bad result I think I will have to forget the 3% target. I will post next weekend's target later.

£20 Bolton to win at Fulham towin £112
£25 Macclesfield to win at Shrewsbury to win £130
£30 Danny Graham 1st goal v Newcastle to win £240
£10 Long 1st goal and £10 Odemwingie 1st goal v Blackburn (£72 win Long - £90 win Odem)

I will phone in a £200 bet on Chelsea beating Wigan later as long as Mikel doesn't start the game, probably win about £80 if they win.

£500 lay of Birmingham beating Palace to win £300
£10 Murray 1st goalscorer to win £74

£500 lay of Birmingham beating Palace to win £300
£10 Murray 1st goalscorer to win £74
0-0 after 35 minutes and it's fairly even BUT Birmingham Seem to be playing with more attacking intent than recent games so I'm gonna start laying this bet off in installments.

Now + 262 on palace/draw and - 435 Birmingham

Now + 230 and - 373

Now + 80 and -80

Loss on this thread over the last week or so = £174, making the overall profit £1619.

The target for week 18................................

--------------------------1%-----------------------------2%-----------------------------3%---------------
------------------------£366--------------------------£1211--------------------------£4063-------------

I reckon now is the time to admit defeat in the 3% challenge and concentrate on staying above the 2% target.

£100 over 2.5 goals City V Stoke to win £58
£6.30 G. MacAuley 1st goalscorer for WBA against Newcastle @ 75/1

£8 Cox 1st goal for WBA v Spurs @ 28/1
£4 Odemwingie 1st goal @ 18/1

£3 Spearing 1st goalscorer v City @ 85/1
£3 Agger 1st goalscorer @ 46/1

£30 Bolton to beat Everton to win £210

£5 Mark Davies 1st goalscorer @ 33/1

As I mentioned in the other thread, the 2 weeks over Xmas and the New Year were spent either drunk or very hungover. My betting was all over the place as was my memory and I haven't a clue which bets were meant for which challenge (I posted all the +/- bets on the other thread). Rather than guess whether or not I made a profit on either or both threads (I made an overall profit I think) I'm going to wipe those 2 weeks off the record in this 3% challenge and therefore my target for this weekend is, as was prior to Xmas, Week 18......................

--------------------------1%-----------------------------2%-----------------------------3%---------------
------------------------£366--------------------------£1211--------------------------£4063-------------

And my bank after last nights 7/1 winner is £1815

£150 Andy Carroll 1st goalscorer v Oldham to win £555

Edit: Carroll not starting so the bet will be voided if he's not playing when the 1st goal goes in.

£50 @ 5/1 Kuyt 1st goal.

£12 @ 9/1 Trotta 1st goal for wycombe v Huddersfield

£100 Over 2.5 goals Liverpool v Oldham to win £53
£10 Chris Taylor 1st goal Oldham v Liverpool @ 48/1

£115 lay of Barnsley beating Swansea to win £50
£74 lay of Southampton beating Coventry to win £50
£330 lay of Crawley beating Bristol City to win £250
£174 lay of MK Dons beating QPR to win £100

Edit: I put a £100 lay on Crawley @ 2.54 and a £100 back of Crawley @ 2.72 at half time and both were taken 🙂

Gives me a liability of £358 and a potential profit of £272

Edit: Still 0-0 in Crawley v Bristol City game so I've started laying off the liability on Crawley @ 4.0+

£2 craig stanley 1st goal v aston villa @ 80/1
£15 mustapha carayol 1st goal @ 26/1
£20 chris zebroski 1st goalscorer @ 15/1

£48 lay of villa beating bristol rovers to win £100

Edit: now - £99 villa winning and + £200 rovers or draw

£200 over 1.5 goals Spurs v Everton to win £62

Edit: I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing by selling this but I just want to focus on our game. Spurs 1-0 up so bet sold and £6 profit now on over 1.5 goals, no liability on unders.

The profit on this thread has taken a BIG hit and is down to £1215

Thhe target for week 19 i.e. today is..........................

----------------------1%------------------2%-----------------3%---------------
--------------------£395--------------£1598--------------£6117---------------

£10 Walsall to win at Bretford to win £43
£100 over 1.5 goals Huddersfield v Oldham to win £26
£49 lay of torquay winning at Macclesfield to win £30

Edit: Half time Brighton 1-0 Bristol City..........£18 lay of Brighton winning to win £50

Another shocker on this thread, a loss of £307 leaves the season profit @ £908.

I'm quitting this thread now and claiming a minor victory. Even though I failed miserably with the 3% target and was even failing with the 2% target, I did turn £100 into £908 and I'm quitting now before that goes.

The reason this challenge can't be successful is that you have to keep betting on strong favourites like Man Utd v Blackburn and Man City to win @ Sunderland and these short-priced bets are anathema to me. The only way to win at betting is to spot the value in a bet (usually on outsiders) and at odds approaching Evens or better (although you can still sometimes spot value at shorter prices).

I'm adding this total of £908 to my main thread and hopefully I can turn the £3000 profit so far into £6,000+ by the end of the season.
