A return to the invincibles?

Are the arse finally going back to what got them their team of the invincibles? -Not signing a load of 13yr old lads and hoping to make them great, but by buying established talent.

The arse team of the invincibles had:
Lehman, Cambell, Toure, Lauren, Cole, Gilberto, Viera, Ljungberg, Pires, Bergkamp, Henry

Obviously from that, there's only Cole that came through their youth team, they nicked cambell, and the rest are foreigners they brought in. All of a decent standing when they were bought, not teenage 'punts'.

Next season they could line up as:

Szczesny, Gibbs, Debouchy, Mertesecker, Koscielny, Khedira, Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez, Giroud


They've spent all these years trying to get the kids through and build around them, but if they buy Ozil, Sanchez, Khedira that would be well over 100mill on 3 players, and a move away from mainly the academy/youth players in the first team. They would probably use the likes of Wilshere, Chamberlain, Walcott, Jenkinson, Gnabry, Cambell for the bench.


If they sign Khedira, I think they've got a cracking spine to that team, might be in with a good shout to win the league next year. They're capable of going on long winning runs but usually throw it away as they've got no bottle in the middle of the park when things get tough, that may change if Khedira comes in.
 
Not all were of decent standing when they were bought though. Viera had played just 2 games for Milan when Arsenal bought him have previously played for Cannes and Toure joined for ASEC Mimomas for £150k. Lauren was hardly a world star either and Henry was having a mare at Juve.
 
For me they still need a world class striker.

Bergkamp & Henry vs Giroud just isn't comparable. Although maybe Sanchez will play the Henry role.
 
They are making good signings, to be honest. If they get Remy in, or another striker, they'll challenge for the league. They probably still would even if they didn't.

I made this point last week.

Campbell, Cole, Vieira, Bergkamp, Henry - All winners, all guys that you can rely on.

Who in this year's side you gonna count on? Mertesacker? That yer fucking lot? They'll shit themselves like they do every year.
 
Fuck the invincibles - think about the return of Liverpool to CL dominating shit like Real Madrid and bringing it full on and thrashing teams in the PL.

Exactly.

I look at that teamsheet and I see lots of talent but I don't see no leader. Not one.

Remember what happened to Ozil last season ?
 
Sanchez is a fighter TBF, but that won't be enough. Even Khedira has a bit of a rep among one or two German fans I know for not being too keen when the tackles start flying in, so even if they do sign him he may well not help from the backbone point of view.

Don't mock, he lost his original moustache in a horrible mangle accident. Although it was partly his fault as he was shagging the milk maid and was trying to hide his face when his wife walked past.
 
Looking at the back row of players there's some really evil looking bastards there. They'd only need to whisper 'you dare score a goal today…' during the warm up and the result would be decided. The guy in the middle looks like he'd kill you for small change.
 
I dont really care if Arsenal improve. It doesnt matter for us anyway, as we need to worry about ourselves.
Improve our team and let them worry about us.
 
The slug balancing guy looks like an innocent among them. Astaire would have had them eating out of his hand in no time, and probably agreeing gleefully to break the legs of any rival actors vying for the same roles as him.

Innocent? Have you seen his calves. It looks like Frankenstein's grafted random chunks of meat onto them.
 
People do this every year, they'll have a spell where they'll blow a few teams off the park, they will have injuries, high class players going missing and as said, a chronic lack of leadership and fight.
 
That photo screams "what the fuck are you looking at".
