Along with Gigi, another player who'll be playing in 'odd' colors next year ...

Oddly enough, his final pictures from the Barca game ... at 1am ... are just an awesome way to say goodbye to the legend:

Bound to be Team ‘Murica

That would be a terrible place for him to go. He doesn't have the athleticism for MLS and his teammates there won't have the game intelligence to get into the right spaces for his passing.

C.f.. Pirlo - waste of his talent and ended up waste of a roster spot for NYCFC.

Loved watching him play.

But hate all teary eyed more than a club bullshit which Barca regularly put out.

He was the king of tiki-taka tippy-tappy shite. If you like that sort of thing. Personally I find it boring.

I don't like the tipp-tappy shite but I loved his dribbling. He also scored one of my favorite non-liverpool goals against Chelsea and was one of the main players in the team which defeated Ferguson twice in the champions league final.

Outside of those points, I don't particularly like them.

I'd understand if you were talking about Xavi.

I don't really get it with Iniesta though. His touch, close control and dribbling ability made him great to watch irrespective of the style played.

No bias here, but in their peaks I would take Stevie G over Iniesta everyday of the week. Especially playing in England.

Different type of player - Stevie was the 'leader' of a team and dragged them forward, Iniesta was part of two well oiled machines and was key in both winning everything.

I'd take Stevie too ... Barca/Spain would have won what Iniesta won if you'd replaced the two ... Liverpool wouldn't if you replaced Stevie with Iniesta.

In fairness, I've seen Iniesta do that too... though nowhere to the extent Gerrard did.

My memory might be completely failing me but I think the first CL final against Utd, Barca were under the cosh for the first 20mins or so and it was only really Iniesta that stood up to be counted and helped really turn the tide.

i find the sitting in the centre circle on his own taking selfies as self-indulgent, not romantic.

great player, though, although i think that has been blown out of proportion somewhat, as he hasnt been at the top of his game for ages.

Yeah, but he dribbled and then what? Did he dribble past people and spank the ball into the top corner? Not very often. His scoring rate is less than that of Jordan Henderson. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's a great player, enough people have said it for me to believe it. Did he ever get my blood pumping and leave me agog at his ability. Nah.
