LOL

What a flop. This guy makes Lucas looks decent. He was easily the worst player on the field.

Rafa, Rafa..

1 good game = Everyone saying "Let's hope he gets a run of games and improves more"

1 bad game = Flop. Rubbish. Shite. Sell.

Fickle cunts. Cop on.

I don't think this lad's confidence is anywhere we it should be ... You cannot play a kid on and off, and expect him to be able to 'turn it on and off' every few games he gets a start. If Rafa makes it to next year, Aquilani is gone and will probably return to past heights. We on the other hand will have Lucas! 🙂

Good assist though.

The only thing he should be told to remember from this game.

It wasn't good, far from it. In fact it was pretty shit.

But we've got to persevere with him, haven't we? Otherwise we've got another Babel situation on our hands.

I didn't see the whole game today, but however bad he was, it was one game. I think we've seen glimses of what could make him an effective player for us in the games prior to today.

Way too early to write him off. Quit your moaning guys and enjoy the win.

I saw him play for Italy when Pirlo was unavailable, I think it was at the Euro.

Guess what? He was terrible. I knew this was coming deep down, but I made myself think that I caught him on a bad day.

The Midfield Morientes

Another Veron

Half as expensive though. And that's even without calculating inflation.

Everyone I know who's following the Serie A told me he was a cracking player.

The verdicts still out.

say what you want about lucas but liverpool definately improved when he replaced aqua. you could put that down to lucas, muamba(sp) going off (gerrard no longer man marked or boltan getting tired or stretched looking to get back in the game.

How do you calculate inflation in a market as arbitrary and volatile as football transfers?

It's not easy.

Ferdinand went for 30m or whatever when he joined United. Unlikely that any domestic transfer of a defender would go for that amount currently

Why is one good game lucky yet one bad game is enough to condemn him as a flop?
When?

Well, that's actually a very good point.

*puts down calculator*

Spurs

Oh yeah, playing off the striker. There's no way he's gonna play there again now that Gerrard is back in the mood.

He was good against Spurs, every forward move came through him.

I'm confident he's not gonna be a flop.

A slight tweek in position cannot account for such a deviation in performance, it just can't. I'd hope he'd settle down and find his feet immediately - cf Xabi and Torres - but we may have to wait a while.

I wouldn't rush to verdicts of him just yet.

It's certainly a good sign you are warming to him.

*please let him turn into as important a player for us as Alonso was*

Lescott? Fucking Lescott.

enough said.

Let's not get carried away Khl, he's no Alonso.

He obviously needs time, he's played in *Italy* all his life, he's used to having far more time on the ball than he's being afforded here, especially against a team like Bolton. He might be finding it a bit easier if he had been eased into the team with some sub appearences, but hey.

That's an incorrect use of ** khl.

I was trying to indicate I was whising for something to happen...

What's the correct typing for "wishing-for" then?

*spoil sport*

(Here I'm not "wishing" just thinking to myself).

Alonso was obviously great from the start
Admittedly I can't remember how Alonso started out?

But as he did take over from the likes of Biscan and Diao he's probably looked boss from the off.

That's not right either.

*stomps out of thread in exasperation*
