Alberto "Il Principino" Aquilani

He's missed a shed load of football and is trying to adapt to a new league, so i think it's a bit harsh to be judging him this early into his LFC career.

Yeah it was Spurs

Pinging the ball all over the place like a slim Janbo

I remember that game was only broadcast on Irish TV at the time, it was a 3 o'clock Saturday game. It was a majestic performance.
Yep it was 2-2. Edman scored a wonder goal. I remember laughing when he was about to take the shot. Next second it flew in to the top corner. Garcia scored a great goal too.

I remember Dunphy and Giles fawning over Alonso saying it was the best passin display they had ever seen.

A bit harsh?!

It's fucking mental. He'll come good next season, that's for sure.

How do you calculate inflation in a market as arbitrary and volatile as football transfers?

It's not easy.

Ferdinand went for 30m or whatever when he joined United. Unlikely that any domestic transfer of a defender would go for that amount currently
City paid 25m for Lescott who's barely an England International. They were all over Terry like a rash too, and but for him deciding to stay at Chelsea he'd have cost them at least that. Chelsea at the same time spent 18M on a back-up left-back.

Here's hoping FFF.

Modric strikes me as a similar type of player in a lot of ways, and even without the injury issues (that Aquilani has had) he's taken his time to find his feet in the Prem. Maybe he wasn't the right signing for us for this season, but i'm still quietly confident that he'll turn out to be a proper player for us.

He had a real stinker today and Lucas was a big improvement on him when he came on.

There is a good footballer in him and it's ridiculously premature to write him off... hopefully we'll see the best of him next season. As far as this season goes however, he's been a real shocker of a signing.

I wonder if Rafa spent 20 M just to prove how good Lucas is.

Edit: I am kidding. Realised I had best state this before the numpties jump on the statement.

I didn't bother to watch the game but this thread isn't making great reading. Surely he can't have been that bad?Right?

Middle.

Did he assist on the winning goal?

So he played shit, true. But he did something to help win the game. If it was Lucas (who has 1 assist the whole season) who had played shit and assisted on the winning goal, what would you say .....

Aqua will come good next season

Fear and dislike aren't quite the same thing, are they? And even so, you're clearly missing the point.

This thread is jokes.

Alberto Aquilani Liverpool career in the premiership to date.

4 Starts

4 Wins

2 Assists.

Yeah he's obviously shit.

He's back from a long injury playing in a different country, in a team that is playing like strangers, he's in and out of the side and he's played in 3 different positions in 4 games.
He's doing fine.

Loving the shit out of that post Oncy.

Big up Oncy, I logged on after watchin MOTD to point out that even with his apparent shitness he still got the key assists that led the opening goals today and against Spurs. In a season when we've strugged to score, he's been excellent in creating openings for us when he has played.

People need to chill their beans.

Tee hee.

Neetles Wubs Alberto now.

It's really easy to mix you two up. In my mind's eye, I often see Brendan as an Asian woman and you as a big-chinned white man.
