The knives are hardly out, give it time.

And I'm afraid there is far more at work here than just 4 games in which he has been, to put it politely, 'patchy'.

What you're seeing is a multitude of agendas all wrapped up in one player; pro and anti-rafa camps, the Alonso situation, Lucas, Benitez's transfer shockers, a season that has disintegrated, people who said Purple would be amazing and better than Alonso (that includes Benitez)

A maelstrom of bile and opinion

so i think it's gonna be a hard time for the close-eyed one. Think we can see the elements of class in his game, it's just a matter of not just him stemming his playing style and adapting to this league, it's about the squad adapting to him. How many times in his brief appearances has he tried to do a 1-2 one for lucas/gerrard/kuyt to not realise and keep hold of the ball or pass it backwards. I think his style of play suits a team full of confidence and attack minded.

Apart when he's randomly spraying passes to row 30 of the centenary or main stand

If anyone wants a fucking *weapons-grade* dose of irony, I would suggest you read oncey's post in this thread and then immediately read his contributions to the recently-bumped Alonso thread.

It might also give you some insight into his record for recognising Liverpool talent

On which point, he is not alone

So, yeah, I do appreciate the fact that it is early days in Purple's career, but he was alarmingly shit yesterday, and not for the first time

[/quote]Lol. You're a little bit tragic at times. I love you. But youre tragic.

What a load of boring, fickle bollocks.

At least it's not Lucas though, for a change.

"The midfield Morientes" *yawn*

Question Brendan: If Gerrard, or any player you rate, was shit for 89 minutes and scored or assisted on the winning goal, would you be happy or as harsh?

Yup.

He looks like he should be playing for Arsenal

I loved Nico, I couldn't believe it when we signed him, I was overjoyed. It was like the Alonso saga of the Houllier era for me.

Sublime.

He'd have looked a major league twat if that hadn't of come off!

Indeed. In all honesty, I think it was an incredibly risky decision, given the goal was at his mercy. I'd want my attackers to be shooting from there every time.
