Pep Guardiola has this thing of being dismissive and short in interviews when City get beat or draw. A bit of a sarky grin which sort of implies “it’s a one off, we were only 99%”.

No wins in 4 now and he may need to actually engage and accept that his team is very good but no longer an accumulation of the best players there are. The press, and their fans, will eventually expect him to engage with the post match interviewsers and explain what when wrong and how he’ll course adjust.

This summer they reigned their spending in to be FFP compliant, which meant they had to compete in the (top of the) market with everyone else (apart from Chelsea who are trying to buy the league again). Average buys means they are back in the (top) pack and he will have to earn his pay.

I think he should go back to defensive stability, and drop this full back joining midfield stuff.
It makes the defense much weaker.
 
Nah, it worked very well for them last season. But the drop of in quality of players brought in and not replaced is showing. It seems that he no longer have the players to play the way he wants to, and Rodri is their most important player by a mile.

He also seems addicted to playing players out of position and currently playing Alvarez whilst out of form
 
He also had Mahrez coming on when things were tight, they will motor on second half but there is some proper quality in the league and teams like Spurs and Villa are no longer taking on big teams as they see themselves as same.

Gundo is a massive miss, surprised they let him go as he has pleny of legs still.
 
Spurs build up on Amazon is a little cringe worthy… Spurs fan keen to say they beat Liverpool fair and square.

Yep, Xmas period is all about 12 pts and minimal injuries and fuck all else.

Fair play Everton.

At least them being completely safe from danger makes it easier to cheer them on in games against rivals.
