Sooo, a new match tomorrow. If anyone still cares after Mondays horror show mind.
Late game on a Saturday, at home, Anfield bathing in floodlights and against a top 4 rival. This is usually a match we should turn up for, but who knows these days.

Lovren is back in training and is fit. Which means Lucas will be dropped, hopefully.
No sign of Studge or Hendo in the training pics from yesterday. Thats not good news.
We missed Hendo badly on Monday.

Still, hopefully 3 points and a better feeling then after the abysmal match on Monday.

We'd have lost that game on Monday with 2 Hendersons. Anyway, nothing more than a committed display will be acceptable or Klopp will be under the spotlight.

I've a horrible feeling we can't keep up this superb record against top sides.

6 points in 2 months fuck me.

Yeah, I don't fancy us tomorrow, I can see us slipping up again. That said, a win teaches us nothing we don't already know, we turn up when we feel like it. Hopefully Klopp did tear the team a new one, behind all the laughing and joking in his post match interview, because that would at least be an attempt at firing the team up, that IS his responsibility. It's not a cliche, its primary stuff as a manager. You have to have the authority and respect to be able to get a response from your players with man-management skills. It's how teams punch above their weight and how managers get the best out of what they have. That and good tactics against what's put in front of you, he needs to to get it right in both respects tomorrow.

We simply have to win if we're to retain any top 4 hope.

On current form that's quite a stretch, especially given our woeful record sans Henderson.

I'm feeling anxious for a change.

Probably more so that his approach works perfectly when the opposition wants to play as well but again we all know this.
If by some chance we make top 4 we could do well as most teams attack in the CL

He will obviously drop the pitiful Lucas, but I can't see what other options he has elsewhere in the team to replace the likes of Wijnaldum or the non-scoring, one-paced mediocrity Firmino, who were both fucking diabolical on Monday.

Who would he play? Stewart? Average. Origi? We all know he's never going to be good enough. Karius? Jittery clown. Maybe TT Arnold?

I suppose he might give him or Moreno a go, but there aren't many other obvious changes because we don't have a good enough squad

Not that it makes too much difference given how desperately unpredictable we are. We could give (or take) a fucking hiding and nobody would be overly surprised

I would let Moreno back in at left back and move Milner central. For Can i guess.

I've been a big critic of Can this season, but I think he was the only bright spot in the defeat on Monday, he looked like he wanted to take the game to them and when he went at the back, at least some element of control returned and he was more dominant than Matip and Lucas had been. Wijnaldum and Lallana were hopelessly out of sorts. When I say out of sorts I mean Lallana had a bad game and Wijnaldum put in his standard half arsed, away performance.

Anyway, fwiw:

--------------Mignolet----------------
Clyne--Matip-----Klavan--Moreno
---------------Can---------------------
--------Milner-------Lallana---------
--Mane------Origi-------Coutinho-

I couldn't care less about the team selection or the formation. We all know roughly what he's gonna put out on the field. It's all about mental attitude toward the game and how well Klopp gets them up for it. The same squad were tearing teams apart earlier this season. Nothing to say they can't do the same now, apart from Hendo being out.
Whether it's an arm around the shoulder, or preferably, a rocket up the arse and some clear outlining of what's expected on the field, the effort and desire of the players and team needs addressing. Klopp needs to sort that and now.

100%, I've ripped into Can this season a lot, perhaps unfairly at times, but he was the only person who stood up and actually wanted to do something that game, the goal was created because he made it happen, and when we was moved into centre back he actually wanted to stop Vardy from taking the piss as opposed to just watching and accepting it like Lucas. If more players shared his mentality on Monday we'd have won, but unfortunately we have a squad of players who drop their head when the circumstances aren't exactly right for them, and I think that's why it's so fucking frustrating watch us play.

Need to do something with the lineup as it's utterly stale. I'd rather not see Can, Lucas or Firmino in it at the moment but I don't see what we can do if we leave them out as the squad is so thin, so I'm expecting the same team.

I think we had the issue of the good lineup going through a shit patch and we literally can't switch it up that much. For what its worth, I'd throw origi in but firmino always does well against arsenal. Same team as spurs, but lovren for Lucas and we'll probably win easy

We're going to win this, everyone will shit themselves thinking we're back in top 4 race...

For a few days at least and then we'll lose to Wigan or whoever the fuck we play after.

I hope we win, i'll be at the next game against Burnley, would be nice to have at least some positivety around the ground when I get there.

Hendo and Studge are out according to Klopp. Studge isnt sick anymore but has a hip strain and is out for another week.
The sooner we sell him the better.

Lovren is a fitness doubt but trained yesterday. Could start but a doubt after being out for 4 weeks.

Who on earth would be stupid enough to buy the sicknote? What a waste of talent - shame.

West Ham love signing injury prone players. I wouldn't worry about it. They might even sign him to replace the almost-as-crocked carroll, which would be super lol

Ha! Might as well offload Ings to them too. A strikeforce of Ings, Carroll and Studge, should get about 5 games a season out of the three of them! about £3mil a game! You are aware there's a chronic doctor and nurse shortage in London at the mo !

It matters not what happens against Arsenal if we cannot turn up against Burnley, Southampton, Bournemouth etc.We need to disabuse ourselves of the notion of one player's absence being the reason we lose. We had Henderson against Burnley, Swansea and Hull (we did not have Mané, it was claimed.)There is a deeper malaise in that squad which the result against Spurs masked and it's the mid-table mentality of many our players and the defending is not any better than those of relegation fodder; until that is addressed we'll regularly be pissing away points at will.
