he' still unproven, whereas Mascher is world class - no thanks.

Masher's great and all, but World Class? Occasionally he can be, he can also be pretty woeful with his passing, which is a bit fundamental for a footballer, let alone a World Class one.
As much as I love the guy playing for us, he's dispensable and we can maybe, with the money, go for a more rounded midfielder in the mould that Rafa was looking for last Summer, (just not Gareth fucking Barry, obv).

Trust me, in the role of defensive midfielder he is world class, I can't think of anyone better, can you? Hence the intrest from the best team in the world.
As for this deak, Bojan has a great potential, but I think we would be idiots to sell someon at the peak of his powers for soeone who has potential and then doesn't make it. Obv, if Mascher wants to leave then we should insist on a massive cash offer and maybe Toure.

It's a specialist role, but United didn't do too badly without one last season, we've become more of a possession team too. There must be a good up and coming midfielder with similar attributes and perhaps the ability to pass the ball consistently AND chip in with a few goals, surely?

yes, but utd's formation doesn't detract from the fact that mashjer is world class - i am not saying that we should not consier a swap, but I do not want us to seel players at the peak of their powers for someone who has potential - we've signed to many 'new zidanes' and 'new thurams' for my liking. If there is a swap then we need to pick someone at the peak of their powers.
