People can pass the ball as well as Adam are a rare breed in the game though.

I'd love to pair him up with a decent DM in the middle.

A, decent, DM? Hmmm, strange concept.

lets get didi back to coach lucas. Maybe that can improve him and save him from eternal derision

On theory it sounds like a good idea, but he wouldn't be the first player to make that step up and not be able to cope.

Is he English or Scottish?

He's Scottish.

Then I definitely think we should sign him.

Not to be controversial or anything, but I think Scots are mentally stronger than the English when it comes to sports. Look at English players as a whole, England team case and point, all the ability but no mental resilience.

I don't necessarily disagree (kenny, souness, shanks, hansen, liddell, yeats and others of course), but let's not forget Scotland are the statistically the worst team in world cup history.

Signing Adam based on his nationality is a bit of a laugh.

Get the lad because of his ability and the fact that he'd be an instant improvement on Lucas and Poulsen with the benefit of getting on the cheap.

Go big on attacking talent upfront.

I'm not saying we should sign him because he's Scottish. I just think him being Scottish he might be more capable of handling the pressure of the step up to Liverpool.

SG, that's not cos they weren't mentally strong enough though, that's cos they're crap.

From TLW:

Gary Taylor-Fletchers dad who works on Line 10 in Jaguar was telling everyone today that according to his son Charlie Adam will sign after Blackpool have play United next week.

Hes not the type of fella who goes round spreading rumours but no idea if its true or not

[/quote]WHATTTTT?!!?! How good are the Scottish Rugby, Cricket, Football....*insert any sport here except curling*......teams?
England is littered with champions in almost every sport. Scotland has..........no, i got nothing cept the former 3rd best tennis player.

When was the last time Scotland won anything?

Neets is talking crazy, but a better reason to suppose that Adam can handle a big club, is that he has played in the claustrophobic goldfish bowl that is the Old Firm. We can all scoff at Scottish football, but players for Rangers and Celtic come under incredible media scrutiny, especially if they are home grown like Adam. He's got the mental strength alright.

His time there was largely as a fringe player and that's ultimately why he left.

I can't really view him as anything more than a Rangers reject playing for lowly Blackpool at this point. I'm sure this does him a disservice and it comes largely from a position of ignorance as I have seen next to nothing of Blackpool this season... but... the prospect of signing him does little to excite me.

Still no sign of my gaping hole being exposed.

Sunny removed it.

According to the Blackpool forums we're in talks with him, and it's question of when not if.

Apparently I hear he want to join us.. being a scot he wants to play under Kenny, Blackpool are holding out for 6 mill

5 mill will probably do it...

If you read Holloways comments Adam is pretty much nailed on to come to us. £4.5 - 5M should clinch a deal.

Meireles Gerrard Adam is a decent midfield.

We've missed a passer of the ball like him since Xabi left. Hope he signs

Kenny was a Rangers reject too...

I agree with Mark here. Not every player playing for the likes of Blackpool is shitty.

He plays like a play maker from a deeper role. Something Xabi did for us. He may not have the technical finesse that Xabi had. But he certainly has the passing range, and he is even slightly more mobile than Xabi despite how he looks.

I think we could really do with a player of his ilk...The selling point is that he only costs 3 to 5 million pounds. We need to sometimes make smart Bargain purchases.

I have not seen any valid criticism other than "he plays for Blackpool".

Can't believe he's only 25. Looks 45.

Great passer of the ball, and if we inject some pace into our team we can definetly utilize his strenghts.

His set pieces are also excellent.

He'd be a step in the right direction for us returning to "pass and move", I don't give a shit how unfashionable he is, or how well he did in Scotland.

Soto is hardly all that, but he's had a better time of it in the Premiership than he had in the SPL. Just because it's a weaker league it doesn't always mean that a player who's failed there will fail here, or that a Premiership success will 'walk it' in Scotland.
