I just hope there's some thought behind these potential purchases. I'm referring to Adam and Downing. Maybe the coaching staff do have some intricate plan regarding the way we play and they both fit in like Jig-saw pieces. I just hope Mata is part of that jig-saw, Cahill as well.
 
Is Ming really 28? If so, I suppose that explains our readiness to sell him. I still think it's a backward step in terms of quality though. Meireles is just a better footballer than Henderson or Adam.

A player coming from abroad and make an instant impact is not a sell a year later. It is totally misunderstanding. If he works, dont replace him. He has several good years in him.

So you're suggesting the management might be just throwing cash around without a plan? We're not Manchester City.

I think the idea is that if we could get Xavi, it would be worth to open all cranes for buying a player in a position we allready have plenty, but here we are talking about Charlie Adam. Our midfield will not be better by bringing this guy in.

Trying to build some confidence before they join. What I'm saying is we should probably look beyond their individual skill and see how they will complement the team.

I like Downing, I think the issue is that we need a pacy attacker with skill who can put defenders on the back foot. Hopefully we'll rectify that issue aswell. He's a good player, he'll get goals and provide chances and give us width and balance. He's not up his own arse either, he'll give his all on the pitch each week. Good signing if it comes off, I can understand the 'meh' brigade, but once he's ours and we see how good he can be I think that will change.

I hope we're not selling Ming, but people seem to be overlooking the fact that the lad might just want to leave, maybe he's homesick or just doesn't fancy England that much.

Nothing about his presence so far have suggested anything like that... a bit like Alonso this one.... we found a better guy with british pp.

Losing Ming would be absolutely ridiculous.

Only a few weeks ago Ming said he'd sign a 10 year contract if it was put in front of him. That doesn't sound like someone wanting a move away. And there's no legs to this story other than a shite article in the rags. I'd be amazed if we sold Raul.

Plus he has settled in nicely with his team mates, he was in the crew of players enjoying the Barca and Real CL Semi.
