So City's little visit to CAS has wound up today. Decision due in July, unless it leaks, which is half of what City are moaning about in the first place.

What do people think the outcome will be?

Bit of a watershed moment for FFP here, either this thing sticks, or the whole house falls down. City took a pretty powerful team to CAS who most likely knew everything inside out, unlike whatever lot UEFA and CAS offer up.

Going to be a free for all for PSG, City, Chelsea, Newcastle(?) if UEFA don't win this.

If UEFA do win, does the premier league go after them too under exactly the same criteria? They seem to have sat on their hands pending the outcome. If they've blagged UEFA, they've most likely blagged the premier league.

If CAS rule against City and find them in breach then the Premier League also has a duty to throw the book at them too.

Don't see City winning their appeal unless it's on a technicality (inadmissible evidence / time limitations).

I think the best they can hope for is a one-year ban and think FFF is right that this may be the basis for the two year ban in the first place.

Will be interested to see the judgement. As I understand it, CAS hearings / judgements are totally transparent so they will lay bare exactly what they've been up to (possibly including the full suite of agreements / emails etc). Even if they get some form of result from the Court, I expect the wider footballing family to weigh in on them when it's all out in the open.

How would they weigh in on them? It would be interesting to see if clubs just refuse to engage with them including transfer dealings. But money talks.

Well, it could start with the other EPL clubs telling the Premier League to insitgate disciplinary proceedings. Screwing them over on transfers would be a next step and just generally treating them like pariahs.

And don't forget fan groups - boo the crap out of them at every game, intimidate their players on the pitch so every game becomes like being the away team on a big European night at Anfield. No more benefit of the doubt.

They'll get either a reduced or suspended ban, then some fine that will ultimately be a drop in the ocean for them.

I think there's a chance they get off completely. I think if the middle ground was on the table, they'd have probably wanted to negotiate for it in advance and avoided going to CAS. I think they think if they get any sort of punishment whatsoever, then they're guilty/dirty and the punishment is irrelevant, so they've gone all out to clear their names on every single legal loophole available.

If they are banned for next season, then that's 100mill of revenue wiped straight off the books, plus virtually no matchday revenue for most of the season, in Pep's last season? Time for the well known Abu Dhabi kebab shop to step up and sponsor the stadium roof for 500mill, market rate sponsorship, and it'll be a complete coincidence.

If they get off completely, it pretty much is the end of FFP.

As a general rule Im against stripping historical wins from clubs because you cant really undo the past. Any punishment should be visited on them for future seasons.

I think they will end up with a one year ban from CL, with the sword of Damocles hanging over them for the next 5 years for any further violations. Which probably means Guardiola walks.

I doubt the PL will take any action at all given the current financial situation they need as many deep pockets as possible to prop up the casino.

The result is announced to the public on Monday, and the both sides lawyers have already had the result.

I'm expecting either a complete exoneration, or some petty, meaningless punishment, like a fine or suspended ban.

I'm not so sure. My money's still on a reduction of the ban to one year, possibly accompanied by a fine. Just feels like the sort of "middle for diddle" compromise lawyers might make to get the thing off their desks once and for all - a bit like a "plea bargain".

Why Monday? Seems a bit stupid

Edit.. it seems like its positive news for City.

UEFA asked for the delay, city agreed. UEFA champions league and Europa league draw tomorrow and UEFA didn't want questions about it.

Absolute bullshit, they will get away with a slap on the wrist. I can see it now.

It's probably to allow time for all the bribes to transfer fully

Poor the Man Utd.

Silver lining and all that..

Seville or Roma will beat them in the Europa League anyway
