I just look forward to him signing 2-year extensions every other year ahead until he decides to hang his boots up.Sometimes I think back to the dark old days before we had VVD and wonder how the hell we all got this far.
Some very encouraging signs. If this team clicks properly we will be ejaculating on a regular basis.
The pass he played to Isak for his first shot looked off, however it was perfect for a turn and shot. Which happened.
Maybe I'm willing Wirtz to be a massive success and bending my mind to see positives.
I thought Wirtz was brilliant. He was very unlucky not to have 2-3 assists. He finally seemed to be on same wavelength with others much of the time (or them with him).Still looking at Wirtz and wondering when, or if, it'll really click. His first touch and control is great, he just seems off with his passing. I don't know if that's fitness, time with the players and system, confidence or what. As I said earlier, he might just need a bit of luck.

Hopefully starting on Saturday.Dunno, a drubbing is not to be sniffed at.
They won’t play next Wednesday and have a few days off.Great game, got the 3 points in the end.
Should have killed off the game sooner. Would have allowed Slot to bring on Endo and close the game.
Already signs of Slot overusing both Gravy and Szobo.
Still doesn't trust Endo so Gravy has to play. Jones also out injured.
Most of his passes were ahead or behind the play with the best pass he made was screwed up by Salah. I think he got in Slobby’s way on that same break and then didn’t back himself when he should’ve shot instead of passing (poorly) to Ekitike.I think brilliant is going too far. He was good, and verging on being very good. Just needs to get some end product to be in the brilliant bracket. That's what we bought him for, making goals happen, and it was other players that did that tonight, Salah, Virgil and Szobo.
Perhaps. He was at least very good and a little unlucky.I think brilliant is going too far. He was good, and verging on being very good. Its not just that he gets to the ball its that he somehow gets up faster and runs away with it too, phenomenalBTW, enjoyed another Gravenberch Momo-esque telescopic leg ball-win today. He's going to add that to the spicy turns in his game routine now.

Yeah, but its around 60 hours until the next game and many of them played a game 3 days before.Hopefully starting on Saturday.

How about Isak? I missed the first 25 mins but he looked like he could have played the entire match. Lively and explosive, looking good.
I’d be more concerned later in the season, not right now but it can’t continue.Yeah, but there's around 60 hours until the next game and many of them played a game 3 days before.
It's not ideal, whichever way you look at it.
You are missing some of his work further back where his interplay with Gravy and Szobo had us attacking with much more speed. Even with Athletico mostly sitting back, every time they tried to attack, we countered quickly and effectively, creating tons of high-quality chances. His movement in those moments was very good. Most of his passes were ahead or behind the play with the best pass he made was screwed up by Salah. He was world class today. The little pass to Salah for his goal was the icing on an amazing cake. What a playerThat period between 30-40 mins I thought I was watching prime Fabinho. Gravenberch was literally winning everything back as soon as they got possession, in the air, on the floor. We should have put a few away in that period.
Gravenberch was superb today.
I didn’t miss it at all. He was given lots of space. At the same time, he was diabolical for the first 25 minutes. His three involvements were misplaced passes or losing the ball then giving away a foul. As the game stretched he got those spaces and still didn’t make lots of key passes. All of which were not down to not knowing his team mates, they were off where they should be.You are missing some of his work further back where his interplay with Gravy and Szobo had us attacking with much more speed. You can't blame Wirtz for others failing to finish the chances he created...I think brilliant is going too far. He was good, and verging on being very good.
