Lads, it seems like these next 4/5 games are important in assessing our progress. I've started to lower the expectations, given our injuries to Dan and Stevie.

How about we all make a prediction here, now and check back in in early January and see how wrong Ryan usually is. That said, these are the results I would optimistically expect

Dec 15 Tottenham Hotspur 2 v 2 Liverpool
Dec 21 Liverpool 3 v 0 Cardiff City
Dec 26 Manchester City 1 v 2 Liverpool
Dec 29 Chelsea 2 v 0 Liverpool
Jan 1 Liverpool 4 v 0 Hull City

I'm going for 10 points from 15. Winners gets a few beers at the next New York drinkies, in the year 2018 What's your predictions of exact scores. Imagine if someone got them all bloody right. Predictions close this weekend, before the game.

Spurs 2-0 Liverpool
Liverpool 1-0 Cardiff
Man City 4-0 Liverpool
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool 2-0 Hull

Spurs 1-2 Liverpool
Liverpool 3-0 Cardiff
Man City 4-1 Liverpool
Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool 3-1 Hull

I think we can get something out of all the games bar City away, they are going to tear us apart like wrapping paper, away from home we concede too many and they are putting up hockey scores at the Eastlands. Spurs is the key fixture for me, win that and we set ourselves up nicely for the busy period, lose and we will be under pressure to get results against Chelsea and City.

If we get more than 9 points from those 5 games I think it will be be a fantastic platform to go into the new year and maintain a top 4 place, less than 8 will see us firmly back in the middle of an almighty scrap and less than 6 would be a total meltdown.

There are too many big games coming up so nobody at the top end will be expecting to take maximum points, we have arguably the toughest set of fixtures in the league over the next 3 weeks so the best we can hope for is to stay competitive for the top 4 places

The Spurs game is essential, if we can win it, we put a 6 point buffer between us and them and we can start to open up a small gap from the top five, which will allow us a bit more slack against City and Chelsea. I can't see us winning though, in fact I can only see us getting 2 points at the very most from City, Chelsea and Spurs.

We'll go to Spurs for a win and I'm hopeful. The midfield selection will determine how well we do. I have no fear playing the big teams because the lads seem well motivated for those games. Bring it!

A minimum of 10 points is required.

Selection? We have 3 fit midfielders and 3 midfield spots to fill there isnt much room for chopping and changing. Alberto will get a few minutes here and there but Allen Henderson and Lucas are nailed on to start

We have 4 fit midfielders and the obvious 3 to start are Lucas, Allen and Henderson. The latter should be in the more advanced role but somehow I think that Allen will play there which is a mistake.

Who is the 4th? Alberto, has he even started a game yet, hes not ready to start against Spurs City or Chelsea, maybe Hull if Gerrard still isnt back

Personally I'd prefer our midfield be Lucas, Allen and Coutinho with Henderson out wide. His running is still very helpful when there, and we have the bonus of Coutinho controlling the tempo.

We'll beat Spurs 2-1 while Arsenal will lose 3-0 to City. Then we'll be 2 points behind.

We're going to stuff Cardiff then 4-0 and go top of the league.

I'm going to be proper smashed at Xmas Drinkies then.

Arsenal will lose then 1-0 to Chelsea and will be top of the league at Christmas.

Hooray!

I'd be disappointed if we don't get something from the Chelsea game.
We're going to get slaughtered at City though.

If we beat Tottenham then anything is possible. I have a feeling we will be happy to take a draw. With Suarez in the form of his life who knows!

this unfortunately.. Spurs 2-1 Liverpool Liverpool 2-0 Cardiff Man City 3-0 Liverpool Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool Liverpool 3-1 Hull

Whether Alberto is ready to start or not is inconsequential, he is fit though. He could be an option with Sterling and Coutinho playing the wings. That would offer something totally different.

Tottenham (W3 D2 L2), Man City (W7) and Chelsea (W6 D1) have lost only 2 out of 21 home games amongst them. I'll gladly take 3 points out of those fixtures if you offer them now.

Why is everyone so convinced we'll get tonked by Citeh? I don't think so. It will be close but I think we can do them.

Wow. Downer.

Still, with Suarez & Coutinho playing for us anything is possible.

Spurs 1-2 Liverpool
Liverpool 6-1 Cardiff
Man City 4-4 Liverpool
Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
Liverpool 2-0 Hull
