We've got a clone army of Spearings to fill all these gaps. They would have used Gerrard but the technology is new and Spearing's DNA is remarkably simple.

Brendan Rodgers has left the door ajar for Manchester City to make a move for Daniel Agger by admitting "every player has his price".
City have kept their powder dry in the summer transfer window, but there are suggestions that they could enter the market shortly and Agger has been strongly linked.
It has been suggested Liverpool could cash in if a bid in the region of £25m is made and although not mentioning figures, Rodgers has admitted they could deal.
"Daniel is a top player and you do not want to lose your best players," Rodgers said. "He has been here seven years. He loves the club and its supporters.
"But every player has his price and we will see where it goes."
Agger has been on Liverpool's books since joining from Brondby in 2006 and is the Reds' first choice centre back alongside Martin Skrtel.

Oh my.

Rodgers needs to drop the small club attitude pronto.

He is certainly doing a stellar job making me like him less at the moment.

Let's say we sell Agger (which I definitely don't want) for £20 Million and replace him with £10 Million Kjaer. Would you be OK with that?

Not in a million years, no.

Kjaer is more like a Skrtel-type of defender, just not quite as good. It wouldn't make sense at all on many levels and I don't want us to sell any of whom I believe to be our best players.

Sadly Rodgers doesn't seem to think so. It worries me greatly.

Mr Rodgers is just telling the truth, i've got no problem with that.

Agger has 2 years left on his contract and if reports are true, talks about extending it have not got anywhere. If he wants out or we want the cash, then now is the time to move him on.

I agree. I actually think Vertonghen would have been the ideal replacement but like I've said before, I really don't think he will replace Agger at all. I think it's gonna be Carra.
We'll see tomorrow, if Agger isn't in the starting line up his days here are numbered.

I have a big major problem with it. Two things.

Even though all of our players are up for sale if the prize is 'right' - I guess that our current situation, the past few years, the owners approach etc. indicates well and truely that we are pretty much a selling club now more than anything - so be it, that's the way it is. But you don't go out and spill the beans like that unless of course you are trying to get rid of the player, telling the interested parties, we'll sell him if your up your bid a bit.

And that's my main issue with this. The fact Rodgers wants the money to invest elsewhere more than having Agger in the team. It really does make me wonder whether he's the right man for the job, and the job hasn't even really begun yet. It's simple, ff he doesn't appreciated what class he's got now and instead wants to rebuild his own team with his own players, like Ashely Williams, then we are in much bigger trouble than I ever would've thought.

It's a matter of opinion I get that, whom to sell and whom to buy, but he's now already done his best not to hide the fact he wants to sell Agger and Carroll, and personally, I don't think I could disagree more.

Ayre should be dealing with these questions and Rodgers should be grinning beside players as they sign contracts. They've got it the wrong way round.

One way another, club has showed massive balls it seems to allow Rogers seemingly a free reign at the club. No idea how this is going to end up, when we hired him and decided against a Football Director, didn't realise how big an impact he was going to have on the club.

We don't know what Aggers position is regarding a new contract, so until we do I suggest we let them get in with it.
Kristian so being so melodramatic, any player in the world at any club ha a price.
If City offered Barca 200m for Messi they would take it. If Madrid offered United 50m for Rooney they would to, its nit about being a selling club. The dynamics have changed with the advent of super rich clubs, everyone us a selling club with one or two exceptions, until the fair play rules kick in.

Agger is a decent player, but as keeps being pointed out he is made out if glass.

I would rather keep him, but in a choice of sell him now for 20 odd million or risk letting him go for fuck all, and/or the strong reality of him being in the treatment table for a large lump of next year, there is no competition

regards

The best young player Scotland has to offer.
Young player of the year in the SPL right?

Yup... CL experience... won everything there is to win at the top of Scottish domesticgame,

Do you think he wants to sell him? No.
Do you think he wants to recreate Swansea? No.
Do you think if he had 100M to spend he'd replace Agger? No.
Do you think he's trying to take us backwards? No.

He's having to make do COS THE LAST FUCKING DISASTER OF A MANAGER WE HAD SPUNKED THE MOST AMOUNT OF MONEY WE'VE EVER FUCKING HAD ON ABSOLUTE FUCKING REJECTS, AND NOW OUR NEW MANAGER HAS TO PICK UP THE FUCKING PIECES WITH THE SCRAPS HE'S BEEN LEFT WITH.

Fuck me some people are so fucking blind.

I agree with the idea Ryan, but not the delivery

I have no problems with Rodgers saying we'd accept a massive bid, I. E above 20m

Because we'd be full on retards to not accept it

Worst thing for you and everyone else though! Is! That! I'm! Right!
No, The worst thing isn't that you are right, it'e that you keep saying it again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again

Kenny was average (at best) in his second stint as manager - No one is arguing that, or has done since he's been fired. He's only brought up by a few posters. We've all accepted and moved on.

I can be disappointed however with the Glock like repetitiveness, or with the non-stop animosity shown to a man you know that almost everyone (bar a few posters) look at as a Liverpool legend. I'd rather, tbh, read your insight on players (I liked reading what you write about Allen etc) or tactics (even if I don't agree) - that's far more entertaining than these daily "Kenny was the devil" posts.

You may get fed up with that Count (not that I give a fuck what you think to be perfectly clear), but not as fucking fed up as I get reading the same clueless bullshit on here time and time again like that effort khl came up with.
