Danny Ings

I go to Turf Moor about 4 times a season and am far more impressed with Ings than I ever was with Jay Rodriguez.

Can we ?

Darren Bent is proven. Do you want him ?
What about Berbatov ?

Doesn't suprise that you show up when 'hysterical mong' is mentioned.

Yeah we can bring Bent in to replace that useless Suarez, you know that one who never scores or does fuck all for us, cuckoo cuckoo!

How anyone can try and twist that we don't need proven quality on our team boggles the mind, not just that but to twist in in favour of signing championship players.

You're the one that wants track records and proven quality.I've given you two examples of players with that, players who are easily attainable.

But you don't want them either ?

Are you sure you don't just want whoever is on a good run of form ?

I'd suggest proven quality is a misnomer.

Hard to understand how anyone can misinterpret the point im making.

Fuck it, Will Hughes and Danny Ings it is then for 20 mill in January, woo hoo, top 4 here we come!

Enter hysterical mong to bring any decent conversation down to the gutter.

Anyone with one working brain cell can clearly tell thats not what i am saying.

You suggested we sign Pato is what you're saying?
Yeah?
Lol.
Even better gives us a few names and realistic ones with proven talent.

Yeah ild have Pato 100% over any Championship striker, all day long.

So what you are getting at is we don't have much choice apart from Championship players?

We should have taken Charlie Austin or Nahki Wells as back up last season before the value of both skyrocketed.
Ings is decent though and is the right age.

....

Blah Bleh Blah, this is a waste of time for us and the people who read it.

One last time...

We need proper quality, no mickey mouse squaddy players, i don't know why that is so hard for you to comprehend but carry on if you like.

Name the quality players we can sign then please.
You started the debate so finish it.
Oh and realistic proven ones as you say.

Jesus lads, give it a rest.

Get back into the Suarez thread for a 6CM wanking session.

Who gives a fuck about Danny fucking Ings at this moment.

Actually I sorta get what spaghetti legs is getting at...... We talk about being in a place where adding first team players.... Players who go straight into the starting eleven is critical to us going to the next level, but get weak in the knees every time a injury to a first team player happens. If we had more quality right through the team, we can stick Ibe in place of Sturbridge and still look a very strong team.
Fact is we are starting shit players every game of the season, yet we think getting a player who is going to sit on the bench is more important.
Somebody who is involved in decision making for our club has been getting it wrong for so long.... We need to change this.

I'm all for signing young championship players, for the right price mind you.

But I get what @Spaghetti Legs is saying and I agree, we need proven players or players playing on a higher level.

Hence why I want those two Ukrainian wingers, might not be proven premiership players but they made England's fullbacks look like mugs.

I'd like to ask @Pesam about Nakhi Wells, Ings and Austin.

They score tons of goals obviously, but do actually believe they'll be able to step up to the premiership?

I mean look at Jordan Rhodes he probably scored more goals then amount of games he played in league one. Still, no offers from premiership teams.

Do they fit in our system? Can they pass, can they dribble, do they have technique?

Thank you Julian and Modo, its really not hard to understand, tbh its stating the obvious.

Leo im no scout or football encyclopedia but there is always quality out there to buy, no way on earth should we be having to look in the Championship, leave that to Sunderland and Hull.

I just get what type of player you want, I just want an example.

An established, affordable player, who wants to come to us, yet no one else wants

It sounds borderline mythical

You must have hated us wasting 20m on Sturridge and Coutinho

Brazilian league is shite, top flight leagues across Europe, any form strikers are going to be monitored by other teams, or and the players will have higher goals than us.

Sign Luis Murial in Jan before his fee sky rockets after Columbia surprise a few people at the world cup.

Also Luis could be off in the summer..

@irishred, Fair enough but Liverpool want/need strikers who have a track record of scoring goals in top divisions, not championship.

We should always aim to get the best, fishing around for a striker in the championship shouldn't even come into the equation, its small time and pretty tragic for a club as massive as ours.

Sorry if i come across as an arse, its always wound me up hearing this sort of stuff and seeing people try to justify it, its Liverpool FC not some nothing club with zero/low standards.

Ignoring quality players just because they play in a lower division would be foolish. Every player has to start somewhere and the Championship is an infinitely better schooling for a young player than playing for the reserves at a club like ours.

We do not have the spending power of the likes of Man City or Chelsea. As such, we need to get value for money and that means monitoring the lower leagues (shock, horror!) for players who might make the step up. John Aldridge was playing non-league football until he was 20 and joined Oxford when they were in the Third Division. Paisley signed Phil Neal from the Fourth Division.

I think you need to climb off your high horse.

It's just football snobbery.

There's quailty players everywhere, I've never seen Ings but to simply dismiss him because he's only played in the championship is the height of stupidity.

You talking about stupidity is the most ironic thing i have ever read.

Sturridge was clearly proven quality, yes he has exceeded expectations but anyone who has watched him play knew he was a class player.

Hehe, i was waiting for these examples.

Wake up mate its 2013 not the 1980s, football has moved on so far its almost a different game, in case you didn't notice.

Honestly, yes there is some football snobbery in there, i won't deny it, but i just want the best/best we can get for Liverpool, is there really anything wrong with that?
