We need a proper memorial ceremony at Anfield to give people a chance to express their grief. Otherwise the next games at Anfield will feel really strange and down. I guess they will anyway.
I'm angry as it seems avoidable. A tyre shouldn't blow out if its new, or in goid nick. It's happened to me but I was driving an old banger at the time.

I don't want to wallow too much, but why does it always feel that every success seems to be tinged with some sort of sadness, like everything good that we achieve becomes overshadowed by some heartache. His poor poor family and friends, I feel for them all, his teammates and everyone associated with the club.

So completely at a loss over the death of the wonderful and incredibly talented Diego Jota. He was a Liverpool legend in the making and he had a brilliant career ahead of him My prayers go out to his family and friends and to his wife during this tragic time.

I understand you but we know so little to get angry. I don't think the family wants us to look for faults. My heart goes out to his family.
They'll presumable be a 2 minute silence and a black arm bands, but I agree it doesn't feel enough for the fans. The players will surely have their own private ceremony for some closure.
Tyres can wear out in a supercar after 6000-12000 miles depending on the driving style and power going through them. Normal cars are between 25000 and 50000. These cars are going to go between 2-4x more tyres over their lifetime and I guess one or two missed services and you're in a danger zone. Presumable the car is registered in Spain/Portugal and MOTs are every 2 years in both, meaning these high performance cars could get pretty risky within that time frame, especially around a windy mountain road. Heat may have been a factor given the heatwave around Europe, but at 12/1AM I would have thought the road would have cooled down.
I think the club will have to do something to allow fans to say goodbye and celebrate his life. It shouldn't be difficult to open up Anfield for a memorial service.
I'm assuming the whole squad, their spouses and club staff will go to the funeral in due course.
After reading reports, I made similar assumptions about the road but it doesn't look windy or mountainous at all. It's pretty flat and straight, with no drop offs and barriers in place. I'm guessing it was quiet in the early hours too. Just seems one of those pointless wastes of a good life.
The one thing that is helping a little with this horrible tragedy is hearing some of the amazing stories coming out about Jota that didn’t much media attention at the time. He really was an amazing human.

Last year, he sat beside Ireland’s Leanne Kiernan on International Women’s Day and lent his voice to a message bigger than football.
He spoke about the women who raised him, he spoke about his partner and the support she gives him.
He glowly mentioned Marta and Serena Williams as the kind of role models he hopes his two-year old daughter and his sons will grow up admiring.
We believe everyone has a duty to care about equality and equity. Jota understood that and acted on it.
A devastating loss for his family, his teammates and everyone who saw the strength of his character beyond the game.

Got about 4 different alerts buzzing to my phone at about 4am over here... Thought it would be about me Da, as I fumbled for the phone.
Devastating news. I know we don't know them, but they are such important parts of such a huge factor in our lives, that it's impossible not to feel like we've lost somebody close to us, whenever we lose one of them. And in this case, somebody so young, still playing for us... It's just unthinkable.
Can't imagine what his poor family is going through, as everybody has already said... Just married, three little 'uns, and his poor parents, losing TWO of their sons at once. It's days like these that I wish i believed in a higher power, to make it somehow make a little more sense.
Hug those that you love a little tighter and a little longer today, boys and girls... You never know when it'll be the last time you do it.
