@Markeh , if Ibou attended, then it will be more emphasis on his African root culture where there will be heavy mixing of religion than his Islamic religious observance.

It's really starting to do my head in seeing how performative the media and fans are making the mourning for Diogo. Let players pay their respects in peace, and in their own way. Everyone is being judged by how quickly they post on Instagram, like its a contest for who is the most sad. Fucking TV cameras are filming players like Jordan Henderson try to hold himself together whilst he travels around Europe to leave tributes. People are holding a register for his funeral.

Look we all grieve in different ways, please can we NOT make this a pissing contest about who did or didn't turn up at the funeral. It's not about that. The world has lost an amazing son, husband, father and by all accounts decent human being who also wasn't half bad at football and FIFA.

Islam is not a monolith... Bangladeshi Islam is a hodgepodge of many influences. Pakistani Muslims and Bangladeshi Muslims, you would think would be similar but there are differences.
Bangladeshi graves, rarely do you see women attending. Bangladeshi Muslims will rarely lay flowers or candles at graves. When Queen Elizabeth died, East London Mosque had a group of members (about 5) that objected to Regents Park Mosque playing the national anthem. Both Pakistani, Bangladeshi Muslims got their Islam from the Turkic region of Asia about 1000 years ago, but Turkic Islam is way more progressive, so you will see pictures on turkish headstones, you will see women attending the burial etc...
Thus proving my point that somehow muslims aren't allowed to attend non-muslim funerals or it's strictly forbidden
