So you want someone who has made monumental errors in multiple areas to have a bit more time. Fine. We'll have to agree to disagree.

If he cant motivate the team now, how will that change next season?
I have zero confidence in him getting the shape of the team right defensively even if we sign 5-6 new players this summer.

I just hope that we dont end up having to sack him in November after yet another summer of not getting it right with tactics and new players, resulting in poor results and more money wasted.

So we're no better than Newcastle and Spurs then. Well done, you all must be fucking made up.

I feel for the next sorry twat who'll get shrouded in accolades for a couple of seasons before getting thrown on the heap after a hiccup of a season.

YNWA.. yeah right.

To be fair Mark this Season I really wouldn't put down as a Hiccup.. Too many mistakes from Rodgers to even class it in that category..

We are embarrassing..

If we don't act.. we will end up like Newcastle.. (ok we probably won't.. but it won't get better)

Remind me of your feelings about Rafa Benitez Champions League winner after a hiccup of a season?

Predictable. He had six seasons to win the title, spent loads and blamed money, I lost patience as he gradually lost the plot.

As opposed to you, who's automatically hated every manager since. Do me a favour Tory boy.

I'm being a cunt, soz.

I don't know where we go here, I really don't. We should back him but force a rethink, change the structure, change the transfer policy and give an ultimatum re our tactical set up, particularly as far as gk and defensive coaching goes. He can like it or lump it, if he is that close to the sack, it has to make him wake up and smell the coffee. I think that's fair, we're looking at a rethink and rebuild either way. We've got no vocal leaders anywhere, behind the scenes or on the pitch.

Change everything but the manager? ..

We might as well do the full hit..

Rodger doesnt seem to have the ideas.. no one at the club has the ideas..

So bring in someone who has and can take the club forward..

He didn't gradually lose the plot. He lost the plot in his last season. His second last season was the best team we've had in the last 25 years.

No one at the club has the ideas, so let the club appoint people from top to bottom? That makes absolutely no sense.

I think the clubs is in a strange position. There's definitely a lack of leadership throughout: I agree with Macca that FSG DEFINITELY need to have someone over here directly representing them.

But I actually think our squad's in really good shape, especially if you add Ings, Milner, and Origi for effectively nothing (Assaidi went for £4.5m in January, so that covers Ings's fee). I feel that pretty much any problem in the squad can be solved with just a bit of wheeling and dealing from that starting point.

My problem is I don't see BR being bring that potential out.

That's a fair enough strategy, but they'll have to do find a way to at least make Rodgers seem to have authority. Some players this season looked like they were taking the piss. I can't really fathom why or how when they've got Gerrard as well as Rodgers in that dressing room, but something's wrong there. A contrite and more focused Rodgers might well be a good move, but he'll still need to start commanding the team again, which requires a very delicate balancing act.

I think maybe we could try someone who has been at the club and who has character and passion. Carragher would be ideal, so would Steve Clarke, but overall, coaching wise we need strong personalities who know what it takes to succeed at a big club. It's ok having the philosophy, but you need the people to translate that from the training ground to the pitch, with the understanding of what it means when it goes wrong and how to deploy a side that can roll its sleeves up when it does.

And as has been pointed out again and again.
5th highest wage bill.
We'll finish 5th.

You kinda get what you pay for.

I voted to get rid, partly because I wanted to see the results.

I really want him to come good, but, like a lot of posters, I'm fed up with the nonsense that he spouts.

Yes but there are always examples where teams buck the trend. Us last season. Dortmund. Atletico Madrid.

We spent the same as Utd in the summer. We've plummeted, they've risen.

Rodgers doesn't have the reputation to attract half decent players.

I lose patience with a manager when the team no longer seems to give a fuck. When a team is no longer motivated, fingers have to be pointed at the manager
