Downing

I think our best bet of getting shot of him would be a weird swap thing with some other club with a similarly problematic 'star'. We should just get out the list of the other flops of the season and start calling around looking for swapsies.
It's a plan........................

I just can't take another season with Downing. Not even on the bench.
Whoever's in charge come June must sell that zero and get us a hero.

I would swap with McClean and 5-8m, I know he's not problematic, unless of course you're an NI fan, but I don't see any other manager buying Downing other than Martin O'Neill, Dalglish or Championship team managers.

Like Carroll, no point selling as the loss will be too great. I reckon someone would pay 7M or so tops. Plus, he'll stay put anyway as no-one will offer him half as much wonga every week as we're undoubtedly paying him.

the worst part is he actually seems to think he's done ok . I mean he was man of the match in the carling cup final and against brigton in the FA cup . What the hell more can you ask for ?

He's very thick. If he was a dog he'd be endearingly thick. Familes would sit outside drinking wine laughing as he headbutted the same bit of fence every time a squirrel ran past. Remember when he cut in from the right, feigned to shoot a couple of times and then shot and scored? His tiny brain told him that was how he could score, so he did it again and again and he seemed amazed when defenders appeared to know what he was going to do and merely blocked his way.

For all those who want to sell him. Who would actually buy him ?

No European club would touch him, so we're looking at a load of mid table English clubs with old school managers. None of whom can or will cover his wages.

He's the only player out of last summers signings that i want to see gone. Hopefully somebody like QPR or Stoke might be interested.

If we can't sell him then just drive him to the coast and dump him there, i doubt he'd be able to find his way back.

it's not possible for downing to go two seasons without any league goals or assists, so he will improve by default.

You've done it now neil.

Downing has 0 goals, 0 assists and and own goal in store for us next season.
