Ha.

I remember hating Drogba but he's definitely improved his behavior since the whole "Fucking Disgrace" thing, perhaps even before that.

But as Ryan and others have said, what would his arrival mean for Carroll? There's no way Drogba is like Owen and happy to be a shitty impact sub or come on when the team is already winning 2-0 withten minutes go. He shouldn't settle for that because he can still win games with one moment of extraordinary power and/or skill.

It's all very weird.

Unless we're now in the business, like Man City, of buying good players when they're available and worrying about their role and happiness afterwards. That would really worry me by the way.

The other piece is that maybe we're too precious and naive?

Seriously, United spunked 30M+ on Berbatov and couldn't even find a spot for him on the bench at the weekend.

Just cos you've waxed a fortune on someone shouldn't mean that inhibits you from looking for better and/or other options.

They bought Hernandez, he turned out to be better. Do you think Ferguson gives a fuck about Berbatov's development and pricetag? Nope, he just wants what's best for the team.

Which is what we should have at the forefront of our mind when evaluating and buying players.

I think we'd have more than enough games in a season to keep both Drogba and Carroll happy. Kuyt and Suarez will anyway end up playing a lot as wing forwards, so I don't think we should worry about how we can accommodate in him in the team. Ideally, I'd have wanted someone like Benzema coming in as competition for Carroll for the central striking role (and also to offer a different type of option), but if you get the chance to sign someone like Drogba, you don't miss it, even if he's 33.

I'd be pretty excited if this happens. Add a quality winger (Young would do) to the mix, and things could look very exciting for next season.

Same here Vlad (i think i even go further than that mind).

Anyone else suspect that Barton was severely provoked when he put out his cigar in that lads eye?

I always find the more widely mentioned a rumour is the less likely it is to come off.

Re: Re: Drogba to LFC.

Perhaps we're keeping schtum. It's all on whether drogba wants to come to us now

That's a fair point. My thinking was that if news had reached lowly SCM chances are that some journalist has picked up the story.

This

I'm finding this REALLY hard to believe, but would be very excited if it were true. And fuck putting him on the bench. Drogba would start ahead of Carroll any day of the week, irrespective of their transfer fees.

I fully expect him to go to Milan or stay at Chelsea though.

Is this what silly season is like here on SCM?

Let's just say Zinedine Zidane has been spotted working out with Mike Hooper at some gym on the wirral.

I'm not a huge fan of the Ryanometre (no offence) or whatever we're calling it but I think for interest sake Ryan should give us a reading.

What's his credibility?

Andrew Heaton, whoever he is seems to think he's the man who knows more that most.

He hasnt got a clue. The only one worth following is actually that Pault86 lad. Bellend or not.

This makes zero sense but I would be delighted to have him here.

I've always said he was the one player I rated above Torres even when Torres was at his best.

On his day he is truly unplayable like any other.

He's had another very good season and I can't see why he wouldn't have a couple of great years with us if he came.

Hmm didn't realise he played as much as that. Don't get ot see Chelsea as often as I did at home bbut anytime one of their games has been on he's always looked the most likely, even after Torres arrived.
