Drogba to LFC.

13 goals from 41 games after suffering from malaria and having to contend with his replacement coming into the squad.

Drogba's a world class performer, be mad not to be interested should he become available. He's 33, but i still believe he has another season or two left in the tank.

It's another strange link though.

This makes zero sense but I would be delighted to have him here.

I've always said he was the one player I rated above Torres even when Torres was at his best.

On his day he is truly unplayable like any other.

He's had another very good season and I can't see why he wouldn't have a couple of great years with us if he came.
very good season? can't agree with that pat

13 goals this year for him in 41 appearances
Hmm didn't realise he played as much as that. Don't get ot see Chelsea as often as I did at home bbut anytime one of their games has been on he's always looked the most likely, even after Torres arrived.
'Appearances' is all it is though, that's from the bench, on the wing and for a few months in a Chelsea side lacking in creativity and confidence. He's got about the same as Kuyt and you could say that Dirk had a good season.

but we know a season like this is amongst dirks best, a season like this for drogba is criminally underperforming

i'd have drogba as he's a beasty

tbh i can't see this happening, although i would love him here and it would be a great topic of "discussion" at the lfc v chelski games, i don't really think this is the kind of signing FSG will be bringing in.

he's a quality player who could be cheap (ish)

fits their criteria alright

he is a quality player and could be cheap agreed, but i have been under the impression that FSG would be looking for players that can develop within the team and provide a long term service to the club, definitely what i am interested in anyway more so than players who are getting on a tad. Having said all that I want to re-itterate that i would love him at the club.

This would have to take the biscuit as one of the most mental straight-out-of-left-field signings if it comes off, and as much as I hate his guts for being such a big whinging, diving poof, he's a fucking beast that on his day can bully and terrorise defences like very few players out there.

Still undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the premiership

Drogba is one of those players who make me want to spontaneously combust with anger when I see him. I'm going to have to seek counselling for this if he plays for us.

With regards to him and Carroll. Whilst I know its early days, Mr Carroll doesn't seem to be *that* fit, *that* often in the last 6 months. Having another battering ram allows him to recover without us suffering as much, plus it means Drogba can prolong his career at the top level for a few more years.

Sounds like a win/win as long as the fee and wages are right. Hold on a minute, isn't Drogba exactly the opposite of the sort of signing that FSG have said they will do.....?

i started to believe this when markmc gave the nod but after friedalgate i just don't believe anything he says. i'm going back to my first inclination: this is deffo not happening.

Drogba isnt target. Youre naming the wrong Ivorian.
We are negotiating for Kalou, 5m plus Joe Cole in exchange.

We're not signing Drogba.

Not. A. Fucking. Chance. Of. It. Ever. Happening.

And.... btw..... he's a horrible cunt and I would probably vomit if he we signed him.

I suspect if it did happen and he started banging in the goals you'd have a change of heart. I know I would.

He's a louse, but by god he's some player - I've never seen someone give Sami such a torrid time

Sami played through illness that day, because we had bugger all to pick from in his place.

That said, Dogbreath on his day is a monster.

Honestly don't think he's THAT much of a cunt. Used to dive all over the place but as someone has said, he's cut that out in recent years.

In his interviews, he comes across a nice bloke. Does loads of charity work in his native Ivory Coast as well.

This is very true. This from Wikipedia

On 24 January 2007, Drogba was appointed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a Goodwill Ambassador. The UNDP were impressed with his previous charity work and believed that his high profile would help raise awareness on African issues.[70] Drogba's charity work continued when, in late 2009, he announced he would be donating the 3 million GBP signing on fee for his endorsement of Pepsi for the construction of a hospital in his hometown of Abidjan. This work was done through Drogba's recently created "Didier Drogba Foundation" and Chelsea announced they too would donate the fee for the deal toward the Foundation's project. Drogba decided on building the hospital after a recent trip to the Ivorian capital's other hospitals, saying "...I decided the Foundation's first project should be to build and fund a hospital giving people basic healthcare and a chance just to stay alive."[71]

Doesn't seem like such a bad sort to me. ???
