Ignoring any opinions of performance and play style, none of Gakpo, Wirtz, Ekitike, Isak seem like they have the ego to be the main man. I imagine there is challenged confidence due to having no idea what the manager is trying to set up our style & system for and how safe they are & how they fit in.

I think Ekitike absolutely has the ego. He plays like someone who thinks he can do it all

I hope we don't start Frim, his hammy seems fragile and we need to ease him back. But I do wonder whether we are going to see Slot use him as a RW instead of a RB

Yeah, but Gregg Evans and Anfield sources = most likely BS. But as others have said, I can easily see the narcissistic Salah being difficult towards our new stars.
Except every player who comments on him has said how welcoming and friendly he has been. Being a “narcissist” doesn’t mean he is difficult to new players. Maybe he doesn’t rate Wirtz and Isak but that doesn’t mean he difficult towards them.

I think this is a case of putting the best platers available in to the side.

Could it be a 4-1-3-1-1 formation?

Bradders - Brain fart - VVD - Kerkez

Tommy Pilling is a lively, versatile player who arrived at Liverpool FC's Academy set-up when he was five years old.
His great-grandfather, Jack, represented the Reds in more than 100 wartime fixtures in the 1940s.
Born in St Helens, Tommy made his U18s debut as an U16 player in 2020-21.
He played for the U18s in 2021-22 mainly as an attacking midfielder before signing his first professional contract ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
He captained the U18s on numerous occasions during that season and then made the step up to the U21s in 2023-24.
He showed his versatility for the U21s during 2024-25, netting four goals and playing further forward on the left side of the midfield and even as a No.9.
In the early stages of 2025-26, Pilling appeared for the senior team in a friendly with Athletic Club at Anfield.

I think Hugo and Isak have enough ego between them to really ramp it up one day. Isak is keeping a low profile because he hasn’t hit any type of form or fitness, once he does he’s going to be king of the walk. If they both click with Flo behind I still believe they are going to fly, just hope the club b sticks by all three.
