On the contrary there is no doubt England have got one of, if not the, easiest groups. The weakest Sweden for years, a struggling France and an average Ukraine. Compare that to groups B & C - both incredibly tough groups. I'm more than happy with our group !

Home draw, so happy enough. Draw against Croatia and beat Italy and we might sneak through.

I reckon we can match Italy and Croatia and are not that far behind Spain.
Our defence with Given and Dunne and our attack with Keane and Doyle are every bit as good as theirs and it is only in midfield where Whelan and Andrews are slightly outclassed by Xabi, Xavi and Alonso

We're behind all those teams, but we tend to do a lot better when we're underdogs. Italy are going to be over rated, I reckon we'll do them, one other performance against one of the other two and we'll be in with a shot.

During the season I couldn't really give a fuck about internationals , personally i think they should group all qualifying games together and play over a few weeks at end of season. But i do enjoy the summer finals .
Anyway , if England have anything about them then they should be qualifying from that group . Rooney or no Rooney . But i guess the love of "brave failure" will be their eventual downfall as usual .
Group A is a load of wank but Group B is great . That's why the euros can be so much better than the World cup at times, great games right from the start.
And to be honest i don't really get alot of the Irish fans . Lots seem to be pretty down on the team and qualifying .Ok the team isn't amazing and the chances of qualifying from the group are remote but who cares , surely just getting there is the main aim and fuck it's their 1st tournament in 10 years , just enjoy it . Tough group for Ireland, will be interesting to say the least. The Count is right, Spain are only slightly better than us, but Ireland will give them a game.
Euro's really are a lot tougher to get out of the group stage than the world cup. Heard somewhere earlier that all but the host countries are ranked in the top 35 in the world where as the world cup you get the likes of New Zealand etc.
