Surprised to hear you call BJT and the lads muck, oncy.
We'll be lucky to get out of that group to be honest.
No Rooney, so Bent or Defoe vs Ibra/Sheva/Benzema.
Our team isnt very good and you take out the two worldies we had Rooney and Gerrard and i cant see us progressing. Its the first tournament in years im not looking forward to.
Also Ireland will go out so i'll give less than a fuck after week 2.
Wilshire, man Wilshire...
Id love it Modo if Fabs would go ballocks out and play the kids but he fucking wont coz hes safe and dull, and shit like Lampard and Downing will play.
Id love to see
Hart
Johnson
Jones
Cahill
Cole

Cleverley
Wilshere

Walcott
Young
Johnson

errrrr Carroll?

But it wont be it'll be slow and shit and the only team we might beat are Ukraine.
Interesting team.

If England are on top form, then they might just get out of that group.
And if Wales were on top form they might just get out of their own way.

Now the folly of the seedings has really been highlighted.
Ridiculous groups. Fucking group A is a joke.
Now either Denmark, Portugal, Netherlands or Germany are not going to make the quarters and some fucking muck are gonna walk through.
Its a joke.
What ? The Portugal that needed the play-offs to qualify ?

That Portugal ?

*ARRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEED !*
Sure as soon as they got rid of Queroz they won like 9 on the spin.

we'll get to the quarter finals and then fall over our own arses and go out to fucking poland or some other worldbeaters.

The posters saying that Ireland are just behind Spain are joking. Right?

Right?

Good.

Not arsed about England as long as they get tonked by everyone.

Man for man they don't. The only chance they have is to hustle and bustle and work hard. Which they do well.

But to say Shay Given is as good as Iker Casillas, and Richard Dunne is as good as Puyol and Pique, and Kevin Doyle is as good as David Villa, is, well quite frankly, ludicrous.

That's not to say that the Rep of Ireland won't do well, they might, but they'd be doing so as underdogs. Not as a close rival to the best international team in the world.

I reckon Republic will play for a draw in every game and hope to squeak a winner in a game.
No way Jose.
Don't tell me that Whelan and Andrews wont be able to match Xavi and Alonso in midfield though I will concede that Spain probably edge it by having the creativity of Iniesta in a midfield three.
However if Trapp was prepared to throw Darren Gibson into the mix then that my friends would be an entirely different story

Consider yourself whooshed Hal 😉
It feels like a right of passage and today I have become a man.

Andy no point in talkin about it on here as no ones arsed about England cept me and you but you know come the tournament next summer they will all have the car flags and be wantin days off work cos the euros and all that shit.

I don't think you'll see many car flags in Liverpool to be honest.

Neither do I, I'm just being sarcastic at how many people say they ain't arsed about England but then when they are doing well they all jump on the bandwagon.

Southern bias or not, I love watching England in big tournaments and want then to win whatever they are in. I'm sure if you asked Steven Gerard what he'd sooner win, premier league with Liverpool or world cup with England, he'd answer the latter.

How many englishmen have won the premier league? Hundreds.

How many englishmen have won the world cup? 18?

There you go.

Immortal is the correct word I think. I'm only 30 but can name every single player in the 1966 world cup winning team.

15 years before I was born and I know them all. Immortal.

I would honestly hate England to win an international tournament, but I do prefer them to be in it as it adds a bit of interest.

I found myself laughing my head off, though, when Germany bummed them everywhere in the world cup.

I don't think people particularly jump on the bandwagon when they're playing well, I haven't supported them since I was a kid and a lot of the magic was lost for me. I'm sure others on here, such as Sheik, would still hate England if they were successful. There may be some apathy towards England, but I reckon those who actively dislike England would feel the same way come next June.

And if I ever meet Stevie I'll be sure to ask him that question! I'd be very disappointed if that was his answer, and I'm not entirely sure it would be.

If I was a footballer and playing for Liverpool, the League would come before the world cup, as would the Champions League. Maybe the FA Cup too. And it's a toss up with the League Cup!

I think it's pretty strange to be honest, but hey, that's your opinion.

I can name about 4 in that squad.

Just because someone wins the league every year doesn't make it no less special. I've never seen us win the league and I'd rather win it every year for 20 years than have England win the world cup.

I think so yeah, as I've said above, how many players have a premier league winners medal and how many have a world cup winners medal?

Group B is the deathiest Group of Death ever. My wild prediction is England will scrape qualification then get beat in the quarters.

Coz they're shit.

I think Piedro's making a marvellous point.

And Larry as well. That group B is just insane especially when you compare it to Group A that looks about the softest group I can remember seeing in a championship.
