Here’s a bonkers solution. Make the upcoming Villa game BOTH league and Cup at the same time! If the game is drawn after 90 minutes, the penalties will decide who will progress in the cup. It’s like a codeshare flight operated by 2 airlines - you’re physically in one plane, but it’s technically two flights with separate codes, prices etc.

So that's a big 'fuck you' to the league cup then. Essentially saying we're puling out if they've refused to help us, and we'll just field the kids and the can shove it. I think that's sensible. The CWC semi final against the Asian/African/North American champions? Or the CC against Villa away?
If it's the CWC, perhaps we can play a strong side against Villa and then make them fly out and play the final should we get there. Otherwise let them stay at home and prepare for Leicester.
To be honest though, we've won the CC plenty of times, so i'd prefer us to win the CWC. Either way, the most important game in that period is Leicester away and then Wolves at Home. Those are the games that really matter. Hopefully the team are not jetlagged going into those fixtures.

Aston Villa play "winnable" games vs. Sheff Utd (A) and Southampton (H) before and after the cup game. Prior to that, Villa have a run of league games vs. Man Utd, Chelsea and Leicester.
