Florian and the (Slot) Machine

Quite right, too. It sounded like bollocks from the outset. Wirtz knows the deal is getting done and that's good enough to dampen any nerves about the move imploding.

By the look of it, if Leverkusen stymie this deal now they'll have one royally unhappy player on their hands. He might even change his mind about Bayern if that were to happen.

The IG account is definitely his. It's full of product endorsements and sweet odes to Xabi Alonso. No goodbye to his pal Frimpong though

Anyway, good to know he respects the legends that are Sane and Modric and isn't going to take their numbers.

Wirtz Wednesday. There will be a Here we go today!
Happy day to everyone who thinks a generational World class young player who wants to join us will improve our team.

Because he knew all along it wasn't necessary as they'd both be playing with a Liverbird on their chests!

Happy Wirtz Day to all who celebrate. Presumably he'll take the number from one of Diaz or Nunez if either leaves (i'd expect Gakpo to be given #9 though if Nunez leaves)

If 7, 10 or 17 isnt available by the end of the summer. I reckon he'll take 27, back to his first number.

Bayer Leverkusen want a higher figure, and so if and when Liverpool do edge up, it could well be a British record transfer fee should this get over the line. Where things are now is that this is progressing in the right direction. The talks are ongoing.I think they're now on to the stage of potential add-ons, the make-up of the deal, the bonuses, and how they would be achieved. So it's clearly at an advanced stage, but from what I hear, it's not quite at the finish line yet. There is more work to be done. But for Liverpool and their supporters, there's reason to be optimistic. I do think they are going to get this deal done, not only because they're pushing so hard in the club-to-club negotiations, but also the desire of Wirtz.

Twitter accounts shamelessly farming engagement with the same non-news bit every single day for about 2 weeks straight. Silly season reporting has gone full retard and I blame that fake journo cunt in a buttoned up shirt for it
