Florian and the (Slot) Machine

Please, people talking about a manager who’s won a European trophy as the worst in the history of the EPL.

Laughable.

What has winning a 2nd rate European trophy got to do with the EPL? Don't know about history, but he was definitely the worst manager in the Prem last season.

Wenger isn't classed as one of the best managers the Prem has seen because of what he did in Europe.

Er surely the worst managers are the ones that got relegated?

I would really hope that the club's overriding ambition is to win trophies rather than "be considered as one of the biggest clubs in the world". The two may not be mutually exclusive, but if we make a signing with the second objective in mind and not the first then our arse is 200% about our tit.
I'm not sure how anyone could come to that conclusion though - considering it's FSG we're talking about here.

This just feels like another Ali or VvD type signing. FSG will push the boat out for a 'best in class' if it's what we need. It's never been about image for them.

So kinda hinted at it before but I'm struggling to fully get behind this one.

I don't watch any Bundesliga so sure / hoping ignorance is playing a big part.

On paper, it feels a little disruptive to the team we have. I'm hoping he's the generational talent everyone says he is and it all just clicks.
Yep it's ignorance. Hes a generational talent who at 22 has more goal involvements than Messi at the same age.

Its why I want Gyokeres as the 9. Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo, Gyokeres with Macca and Gravenberch.

Get ready for some paddlin's being dished out.

One can view it as simply as that if they wish but the reality is they're 12 places and 28 points worse off to last season, & I don't view the job Mckenna has done at Ipswich, (or Cooper/RVN at Leicester - Martin/Juric at Soton) as less of a reflection on their ability to manage a team despite relegation to the job Ange has done at Spurs all things considered.

Anyway less about those failures, are we signing this cunt before Tuesday or what?

So, is it the phrase 'He'd be cheap at double the price', just butchered by morons..? Genuine question - Is that it's origin?
I’ve done a little reading on it and it’s basically a little bit of a piss take using our language. It’s been used for about 150 years.

Yes. Another similar example is "the proof is in the pudding", which is meaningless drivel, instead of "the proof of the pudding is in the eating", which is old-fashioned but at least means something. I heard a TV reporter today say "knocking on our doorstep" FFS.

Don't get me started. 🧑‍🎓

a trophy is a trophy
20+ losses are 20+ losses
a point total that would see relegation if the bottom 3 weren't such shit is still a point total that would see relegation if the bottom 3 weren't such shit
a european competition that lost a lot of its luster because of the removal of CL teams is still a european competition that lost a lot of its luster because of the removal of CL teams
a trophy is a trophy

Spurs would be wise - despite the trophy - to learn from Man U and their Ten Hag gamble ...
The points relegation argument is nonsensical as Ange has said he knew he couldn’t get relegated and put everything into the Europa league so the points total in the league didn’t matter with 3 worse off.
