Gervinho decision soon

Ivory Coast star Gervinho has confirmed to skysports.com that he wants to leave French champions Lille.

Lille coach Rudi Garcia confirmed to skysports.com earlier this week that the club did not want to lose both Gervinho and Eden Hazard, but conceded one could go.

Gervinho, who is being chased by Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle, now appears the most likely departure after confirming his intention to leave.

He also underlined it was ambition to move to England, despite interest from Spain.

"My mind is made up, I am leaving," Gervinho told skysports.com.

Gervinho has just one-year left on his current deal, which means Lille are likely to cash in on him this summer.

"I have made my mind up. I will soon meet the club and let them know, but they understand my feelings that I want to prove myself in a top league in Europe.

"My agents are moving things as I want, people know where my future lies, it is in England."

Wish that cunt would just pick a club. He must think he's Lebron James or something.

I do. He's the kind of pacy direct player we're lacking out wide.

I think he'd quickly become a fans favourite with his energy and cocktwat hair.

Unlike the Cabaye deal, it has emerged that there’s nothing straightforward about Gervinho’s mooted move to Newcastle.

With multiple agents working on his behalf, Toon have been quoted four or five different prices for the forward over the past fortnight. No detailed negotiations have taken place with Lille as yet and the confusion over who represents him is not helping matters.

Indeed, all the while the club have been beavering away on other targets because they are concerned about potential African Nations Cup commitments come January.

Lille's general manager Frederic Paquet has now confirmed they are set to hold talks with Arsenal, who have made contact.

"He actually wants to go," Paquet admitted to RMC.

"We have developed contacts with Arsenal. We will soon discuss with them to see what they want.

"He expressed his desire to leave for England so we'll see what will happen.

"Gervinho chose to leave for England, so that limits the scope of the situation
.

"We will meet soon with Arsenal, see what they offer - but he is a player of value."

Arshavin off?
