Greatest transfer window in history

… is not looking so great at this moment in time.

Wirtz still not showing any clear signs of settling in and even when he does something well, it feels somehow redundant, like he’s made for a different type of game than we’re normally playing, especially in the Premier League.

Isak might be physically not 100%, but with each passing game one starts to wonder if the transfer saga took a toll on him psychologically as he looks a lot more timid/lethargic.

The major failing of the window was of course the failure to sign a senior CB and while Leoni doing his ACL on his debut is incredibly unlucky, the bottom line is that we’re now exactly in a situation we were trying to avoid - rotating 3 fit CB for the season one of whom is Gomez.

Kerkez is taking time to settle in, which would be less of a problem if Slot played Robbo more. And on the right Bradley has been subbed at half-time for already 3rd time this season, if I’m not mistaken, and Frimpong has been unimpressive in his fleeting appearances. What’s more worrying is it seems that without Trent playing his trademark early balls into Salah, our best player suddenly turned into a pumpkin.

Ekitike is the only one so far who looks like a hit. Other than that, we are currently a worse team than last year in several positions.

Isak will be great & our main man. Honestly have no worries about him but fuck me the players around him are shit.

It's frustrating to see because we've been stacked up top for a long time & now we look woefully short after spending a fortune. It's fucked up.

I think the biggest problem was how many we signed, the more we signed, the more disjointed we'd be. I don't think it's helped their performance and I think there's also been an adverse impact on out existing team too. They're all(or mostly) good enough, in my opinion, it's not a personal thing, it's form/gelling/tactics. You can see moments where it's nearly there, except it just isn't.

I have a feeling it could be months before we see things coming together properly, and hopefully that's not so long as to wipe all confidence.

You would have to get quite lucky to do a lot of business all at once and have it work out.

We've made necessary, massive changes to our forward line and defense. We on top of that made a change to our midfield that would be a great addition to a very stable team, but instead is destabilizing.

All of this should have been done more incrementally.

Agreed. But at the same time, although we have them all now, that’s doesn’t mean we have to play all of our new signings straight from the off.
I’d have played a new RB or LB but not both from the off. Maybe played Wirtz or Ekitike.

Maybe that way the team would have had some stability to begin with until we gradually got used to the new players.

Whats more troubling for me is our overall play and the performances of most of the players, not just the new signings. The inability to play simple ten yard passes or have any period of decent build up play or attacks is astonishing. Don't get me started on the defence because I'll have a fucking aneurysm.

It seems to me the forwards we signed were for life after Mo. I can see how an attack of Ekitike, Isak and Wirtz could be a plan

I don’t see how Mo fits though. We’ve only played with a genuine number 9 in one season with Mo. That was Klopp’s last season and we were incredibly open then with games often resembling basketball matches just like it is now
