Greatest transfer window in history

Imagine, you run your most talented player into the ground by having him press all the time.

Some things with modern football surprises me. I mean, Rush did it, and everyone has to work for the team, but when he then gets the ball, his touch might not be 100%. It’s a bit like Salah getting rest so that he can do forward runs and finish. I don’t have any solution though. It just reminds me of pep, how he coaches creativity out of the most talented lads.

Some good points made, but this thread will be a much more interesting in 2 years. Then will know what history has to say.

It's just modern top level football. 20 years ago, it was just the back 4 and maybe the DM had to be organised and orchestrated. The attackers could play their natural game.

Now everyone has to be part of orchestration

More or less, at least

Hansen, Molby, Nicol, Whelan, Staunton, McMahon.... and I could go on, all would find the idea that defenders and DMs only used to defend a bit of a joke.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, this f@#$ing place...

raw

If anyone has doubts about this ... please watch where the build up and dribbling starts for the last goal of 1970 world up final....the attack starts with a defender.

Actually it doesn't (Clodoaldo was a MF who had come deep to get the ball off his back four). You'd have been better off pointing out that the goal was scored by their skipper Carlos Alberto bombing up from RB. Not sure how typical that amazing Brazil side was though.
