The biggest issue I have with Slot ... not that I haven't mentioned this before ad nauseum ... is that he has only ever performed in the Dutch league. It's like having only ever acted at your local drama group before going to Broadway or the West End. Just because his teams can successfully implement his tactics in the ridiculously low on quality Eredivisie doesn't mean they will translate to the PL.
Yes I know some say it's cheap and inaccurate to compare him to Ten Hag but aren't the basic premises the same? Wildly successful in the Eredivisie but with zero experience outside of the country? I simply don't think that metrics can be used in the same way with managers as they are with players.

TBF he’s managed in European competitions too and took Feyenoord to the Conference League final on the first try. Building up European pedigree with a super young team takes time and he couldn’t quite replicate that cup run in subsequent seasons (eliminated by AS Roma all 3 times), but overall you could say Slot has slightly outperformed Amorim in Europe.
Also, Slot’s ambition (for which he’s getting a fair bit of stick) means his tactics are very much informed by the likes of Guardiola, Spalletti etc - he is not designing a product “for local consumption” only. His style looks like it will translate to any league.

If we were to completely dismiss the level of the division should we only sign players from England, Germany and Spain? If those in charge think any player or manager is good enough let them prove it.
Even if you were to look at the more popular leagues who could you get? Inzaghi isn’t leaving Inter for anyone. The Bologna manager has been sacked twice this decade including having a side at the bottom of the league. The only upcoming manager in Spain is the Girona manager who is part of the city group so that’s a no go. Germany only has Tuchel and Alonso and neither will leave their posts.
People are losing their shit because the talent pool isn’t great at the time Klopp decided to call it quits.

Not the most ideal timing to take over the club, though. Maybe good for the kids and the players returning from loan moves, but with the EURO's and Copa America being played this summer, I'm not sure he'll have much time building a squad that suits him.
