Quite a few tall strikers who emerged in recent years are a bit timid in the air. Gakpo is kind of the exception because his jumping is excellent.
Probably an area he needs to work on.
That said I don’t like those floated crosses into the box anyway. Hopefully we won’t see to many of those this season.
We just lost our best crosser of a ball. The new FBs are about running/legs more than crosses wouldn't you say?
Sure we've lost Trent who had an x factor in this regard, but Kerkez has an excellent cross on him, as does Bradley (haven't seen enough of Frimpong to judge but I'd guess he's quite good too).
I can see that (though I obviously have no stats to support this theory) being due to the teams he's played for. Neither PSG nor EF are teams that fire in a lot of crosses aimed at strikers. PSG play the ball on the floor and EF played a lot on the break last season.
Ibou doesn't look like a player intent on moving. And the statements coming out of his camp support that (focus is on renewing contract).
