Hugo Boss

Fuck me what a crazy fee for him. Big gamble but let’s see how he adapts to the pressure of playing for Liverpool. He can hardly score less in our team can he?

Nunez's figures weren't bad at all for minutes played (it's the misses that pissed everyone off) so a massive improvement is a bit hyperbolic. Nunez worked back too so Ekitike will have to work his socks off. Likely his all round play is much better and will suit the team more - but this is still a huge gamble. Age on his side.

Not just the misses - the propensity to find himself offside, the moments he went a bit crazy, the average control, the poor footballing intelligence - overall he just wasn’t very good, not shit, but also not good enough.

this is it here, his finishing is all over the place and his general game is shite for the level he’s supposed to be at. no consistency in anything, he’s stuck looking like a raw talent when he really should’ve started to come good.

…just saying but at the same age Thierry Henry was scoring 3 goals in 16 appearances for Juventus just prior to joining Arsenal…

I get the ambivalence to this signing. I really do. But we're living in a world where there isn't a wealth of strikers, and fees are inflated accordingly.

According to https://share.google/WkifUEizObfisn6rY , van persies transfer from arsenal to united would have cost 75m nowadays, yet here we are with Isak reportedly for 150m. The markets so dire that all fees are inflated, and it's going to be that way for a few years.

Ekitike absolutely had the potential to be top class for us; but I think the spreadsheet squad have been sensible. Probably buying Ekitike earlier than they'd like, but they know his fee will go higher (as that's the market) so trying to save money earlier.

So then it becomes a "well who do we buy for a reasonable fee, who should fit our system?"

That's the first vid I've ever watched of him and I think I just watched Henry on Ice playing against a load of shite. I think if I contort my head into a slightly off kilter dimension I can see what the spreadsheets lads see. It's a crazy plan but it might just work.

The only player that he reminded me of was Henry, and even if he only reminds me of him now and again that makes him ten times better than the donkey, so I'm all in now.

I think if the kop can somehow intone that exact awful version of that song then we get his highlights. More likely drunk kop nails that than he's reminiscent of Henry.

Has there ever been a successful Frenchmen at our club? Think someone mentioned it a while back. Cisse?
Sinama Pongolle

Gregory Vignal
Jean Michel Ferri

Oh wait you said successfull - Ibou Konate

The only people that seem to think this isn't a great signing for us... are us. Other fan groups are absolutely shitting themselves about what we could turn into this coming season.

I know this has been done a million times, but I wonder what people would have said of some of our legends, had there been the internet back then..? I have no doubt they would have moaned about Digger and Aldo and other talented but unproven at the toppest of levels players.

Personally, I know nothing about any of the strikers we've been debating, but I honestly thing that if we can improve even 20% on Darwin, with the talent we already had AND what we've added, we might be a fucking juggernaut this year. We create A LOT of chances.
