Internationals

Just seen that there's a shitload of international matches (most of them friendlies) this Tuesday and Wednesday. Anyone know which of our players are involved in them?

Gerrard, johnson, babel and kuyt are playing against each other. I assume all the other usual suspects are with their respective teams.

It's so tiresome. Like when the season starts, clubs just get back into the groove then another wave of internationals arrive and key players get crocked. It's maddening. (It'll be hilarious though if Owen finally gets called up again and Ginsoak starts telling him he's 'injured'!)

Why do they do this? Seriously.

I read that the England-Holland match was off. Is that not true?

As for our other players: Agger and Skrtel injured; Carra retired from intls; Yossi playing for Israel?; Torres playing for Spain?

Will Lucas, Insua, Wash, Nemeth etc be picked for the U-21 teams? Are the U-21 teams even playing?

Please God, no more injuries!

I remember season before last we started superbly with the fourth game being derby in which we gave a masterclass, up came the internationals and after all momentum was gone.
then there was was last season where we destroyed manu and then fulham beat them and then came the internationals to give them a break so they could lick their wounds, when they came back they went on a winning run. I fucking hate internationals.

I know, but imagine, later in the season, if he finally does and Ginsoak starts trying to keep him back at OT. How ironic.

It's on in Thomond Park too, strange venue.
I was in Landsdown the last team we played them when Clinton Morrisson scored the worst goal ever, still beat them.

They "were at the last World Cup, we weren't."
They're "16th in FIFA's World Rankings"
They "would have got to the Quarter-Finals of the World Cup were it not for an awful referfBY FUCK WE BETTER NOT LOSE TO THOSE CUNTS IS ALL I CAN SAY...

They have to come through an easy federation and then face a play off against the winner of an equally shit federation to qualify for the world cup.
The FIFA rankings are a fucking joke. The Faroe Islands rose three places in the last rankings because they appointed Brian Kerr as manager.

Glen Johnson will be hoping to continue his sparkling international form when England take on Holland this evening.
The Liverpool full-back has established himself as a key component in the plans of Fabio Capello and will come up against Anfield teammates Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel in the friendly in Amsterdam.

Reds skipper Steven Gerrard was included in the Three Lions' squad for the fixture, but was forced to withdraw on Tuesday as a precaution after reporting a tight groin.

Meanwhile, Fernando Torres, Albert Riera and Pepe Reina are with the Spanish squad for their friendly encounter with Macedonia tonight.

Yossi Benayoun is expected to figure as Israel go head-to-head with Northern Ireland at Windsor Park, and Philipp Degen has joined up with the Switzerland squad for their match with Italy.

Javier Mascherano is also set for action in Argentina's clash with Russia in Moscow.

I hope Degen doesn't get injured. He's key.

Dont laugh. He might very well be

He's played more games for Switzerland than he has for Liverpool since he signed with us. Are Switzerland a premiership side ? Did we loan him out ?

Australia are part of the Asian Federation now. Not so easy any more but a good decision for them to make.

On the flip side Uruguay should beat NZ every 4 years to qualify.

I'm looking forward to England, Holland.

Will be interesting to see if players really go for it or not.

I kind of hope they do tbh. Most of the Atletico match was played at friendly pace, and we need to be ready for Spurs. Also, you're more likely to pick up injuries if you're trying to ease off in tackles etc.

I guess Babel might actually be up against Johnson in this match? Could be interesting...
