Isakly what we need (AKA Isak Hunt)

Fair question actually, esp.considering Callum Wilson's left.
They're used to having just 1 striker in the squad for an entire season though, considering Wilson went goalless in 18 league games (2 starts, 16 subs) while the youngster Osula had 1 in 14 (all subs).

And now they ban their only usable striker from the all-important club BBQ. Damn, I need to change my post in the predictions thread and stick Newcastle in there as a relegation candidate.

OMG theyre impressive. 2 easy headers, 4 tap ins and 25 bangers!

A lot when there's space in behind to be fair. Which we'll have much less of, but his finishing is so crisp he'll be a great fox in the box too..
Yeah but then if you look at the recent Nunez compilation video of misses, tons of them are of him getting behind the defence and missing, so I imagine Isak would get plenty of those chances too!

Here's his goals from the last season. Bunch of more scrappy goals and sweet penalties.

One thing that stood out to me, is that he's reads the defensive line and times his runs really well. He looked offside in some of those goals at first glance, but replays would show that his timing of his runs was impeccable.

So I went searching for his offside stats. I'm not sure how reliable this data is, but I found this:

Isak:: 42/86 games (6,567 min), i.e. 1 offside every 156 min
For comparison, Nunez's offside rate was twice that (once every 78 min).

Yeah, I look forward to seeing him join us in January -- still think Newcastle will eventually reach an agreement this window so that he plays, gets paid, puts in a shift, and gets his move at our last bid price in the January window.

I reckon they'll probably sanction the Isak deal once Wissa is done. I know he's more of their backup option unlike Sesko et al, but tbh I think they just want him out now. Hope so anyway.

I wonder if Newcastle want to get as close to our game against them as possible to sell, ensuring he doesn't / can't feature... Imagine the carnage if we brought him on as a sub and he grabbed a winner

Maybe we could just come to a gentleman's agreement not to play him in that game.
