Yep.Does everyone still want him then?

Look at our bench tonight and then tell me we don't need him.I’m not against signing Isak, but I wouldn’t be hugely disappointed if we didn’t get him, either. Carragher is right that Ekitike is probably too expensive, and maybe too good, to just be a rotation option. There’s talk of him playing on the left, but I think it could turn into another Gakpo situation. With Riu already there and Wirtz as well, I’m not convinced that was ever the plan. If Ekitike is going to reach Isak’s level, he needs regular games and a settled position. As for Isak, him going on strike doesn't put me off him per se, but it doesn't make me warm to him either, neither to our club if we're orchestrating it.
I’d be happy if the club pivoted, backed their judgement on Ekitike and brought in a versatile forward who can play across the front line. I'm not sure who that is, or whether anyone is good enough and available, beyond maybe Rodrygo, but the principle seems sound to me.
Whatever happens, though, if Isak misses his game against us then that's pretty funny and advantageous, especially given our tough start to the year.

Who do we have in the squad that is the same profile as a 25 year old, proven premier league centre forward goalscorer, who has scored 56 goals in 86 premier league games?I think it's perfectly clear I never said we don't need quality attackers, and that includes Isak.
I don't agree it's essential we blow £135m on a player who is the exact same profile as we have already spent heavily on. There's always other options, especially for the figures being thrown around.
So far, Ekitike looks worth every penny, I wouldn't have said that before signing him.I’m not against signing Isak, but I wouldn’t be hugely disappointed if we didn’t get him, either. I get it, but we still need another striker and its pretty late in the windowI’m not against signing Isak, but I wouldn’t be hugely disappointed if we didn’t get him, either. Yup. Ekitike will be fighting for two positions should Isak arrive. I do wonder what our formation will be like during AFCON. Could we be going for a 4-2-2-2-kind of thing?I honestly think Ekitike would still start on the left anyway.
Our bench won us the game and we still have Harvey.Look at our bench tonight and then tell me we don't need him.
The Newcastle away game is going to be played in an absolute cauldron….a massive game.
If he’s not had any decent training since May then he wouldn’t start anyway.
he’s been playing keepy ups in spain for weeks with his agent thoughIf he’s not had any decent training since May then he wouldn’t start anyway.
it’s perfect, he’s replacing darwin after allSilly bugger should have used a ball.
oh most def.Anyone considering Antoine Semenyo?
I hope the Newcastle fans are laying into Wissa. I won’t be holding my breath.
Yeah I know, why is Wissa goingbon strike like that !!!I hope the Newcastle fans are laying into Wissa. I won’t be holding my breath.
This the same Shearer who blamed the first Brentford goal on Kerkez despite having only been substituted 4 mins prior?I saw that moron Shearer on MOTD moaning about how there's a right way to force a move. In support of this he cited Wayne Rooney politely asking for a move to City, which ended with Fergie telling him to get fucked.
If only Isak had thought of that.
