Isakly what we need (AKA Isak Hunt)

Look at him here, he's about to sing the word "tonight", which coincidentally is the name of the song he's singing.
Well actually the name of the song is “Tonight, Tonight” and it's sung by THE SMASHING PUMPKINS.
It's a sweeping, orchestral alt-rock anthem that captures the emotional turbulence of youth, transformation, and belief in possibility. Released in 1996 as part of their double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, it marked a bold stylistic shift for the band—trading grunge distortion for lush string arrangements and cinematic grandeur.

ps. It is sung in ENGLISH, which is the n a t i v e language of the band’s lead singer and songwriter, Billy Corgan

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they are an American band given this is an American forum.

An English forum, particularly a Liverpool related forum would have picked the Genesis song “Tonight, Tonight, Tonight”.

This was sung by popular singer Phil Collins who has a history with Liverpool, being one of former Liverpool player, Steven Gerrard’s, favourite singers.

Alongside Lucas Levia, Steven Gerrard is considered one of the greatest midfielders to ever play for Liverpool.

Lucas Levia is from South America, which while connected to North America is considered a different continent.

Listen, it's this simple, lads...

Anybody you think is a bot, put them on one side of an olde-time weighing scales. One the other side, place a duck... The rest, you know.

Much, much better for things to take place after the today's game. But, like, not right after. The next day. And not because someone says so. But because there are reasons for that.

Wissa has issued a 'let me go' statement along the lines of Isak's.

Makes it very awkward if you're an irate Newcastle fan.

If nothing else, the strops from players this window has reinforced the belief that players have too much power. You'd hope something would be done, from new rules enforcing sanctions against players who refuse to fulfil their contracts to making a point of getting any 'agreements' in writing, otherwise they become unactionable.

...obviously not seen their target's statement.

It’s not a bad suggestion though.

So I don't think it is.

What's wrong with the playing having their own agency? The club can just fine them for not training or playing. It's very much so a 1 way Street when it comes to footballer contracts

We should just have mandatory release clauses. Yeah there might still be a few players thick enough to agree very high release clauses at stepping stone clubs, but I bet it'd solve about 95% of the problem.

We're going down the route of players signing 1 or 2 year contracts max. I'm fine with that. It'll benefit us as much as it costs us

Exactly.

Reasonable release clause based on 1. Initial fee and 2. Related to expected performance. If someone over performs, then there's a potential bargain for another club.

I don't like the idea of giving the clubs more power to lock players down

Yeah I think the fact that players are sooooo privileged blinds us to the reality that we shouldn't REALLY be letting clubs own human beings for a few years. It's definitely not ideal lol.

Sounds good to me.

The way the entire game is structured would have to change (though there is a strong argument to suggest that needs to happen anyway given the state of many clubs finances and the insane buying power of the PL relative to other leagues).

There are many clubs whose entire operating model is based around developing players and selling them on for a profit.

It's not like the US where the pipeline of players is coming from high school or colleges.
