Godin has just gone to Inter. Missed out there. He's getting on but still considered one of the world's Top 10 best CBs.

I just don't think Eriksen will chose Real at this point.

I don't have much to back it up really and I could be wrong but with everything going on at Real and with Eriksen being very settled in London, having just had his first kid and all, I don't think anything can make him move right now, except if Barcelona came calling.
 
It was easy to sympathise in Klopp's first year at this stage because the squad wasn't his and the injury crisis seemed freakish, but this has happened every single year. Whether it's down to the intensity of training or some combination of factors, I don't much care. The important thing is we have to respond in a serious way by bringing in more players, we can't undo all the good work of the season so far by fielding players out of position and inexperienced kids. The games won't suddenly get easier for us out of pity for our plight. If we start sliding now it's over.
 
Two of them were impact injuries in games so hard to look at training methods for those in my view. Who knows what happened with Degsy - either didn't warm up properly or had a niggle that he didn't report properly in the lead up to the game?

Good question. IMO the reason it seems amazing is that he's spent so much time out injured, in the same way that time seems to pass so much more slowly when nothing's happening.

Incidentally he's not "sh!t" at all. He clearly can't be relied on to produce his best anything like consistently though.

Oh c'mon he really is. He's been finished for years. Injuries have taken their toll on him. Corinthians were loaning him out to try and get rid and when he came to chelsea he looked so out of place and was awful. No club has really wanted to keep him since he left Milan.
 
I read somewhere (could have been the match thread) that Lovren has never completed more than 6 games in a row for us. Dunno whether that's exclusively fitness-related or includes games where he's been all over the shop, but it's a pretty poor situation where there are fitness concerns over 50% of our senior centre-backs. Assuming centre backs remain an area of the team where you have first choice players, and assuming VVD and Gomez are our first choice, should we not be signing someone else for that position who isn't a crock? A third or fourth choice needs to be able to slot in as and when required and if they are both injury prone then what's the point? It's not as if either are consistently that good.

Actually, Glen, I don't think we're really disagreeing here. A sh!t player can't do it even when he's fit, and those clubs wouldn't have taken a chance on Pato if that were the case, but I accepted in my own post that he can't be relied upon to produce his best and that it was injuries which have stood in the way.
 
I didn't know that, Froggy. What with Daniel Levy handling the club's side of things, this could get really interesting. In the Chinese sense. ;)
 
Have we been linked with Hummels or any other German stopper that once played for Klopp?

The injury situation will surely drive that sort of chat.

That's so weird. How do they know so much about him that a team as huge as Bayern are confident enough and willing to pay £35m for an 18 year old winger who has made three Premiership appearances?

You'd think they'd be nervous after the Sanches fiasco, but at least he'd played a whole season for Benfica. This kid has done fuck all.
