Thats news to me. Is there a source for this thread, or is it wild speculation? Because we can all do that
 
Breaking news:

Joe Allen, who's been linked to Liverpool and several other premiership clubs, is currently having
breakfast.
 
He would potentially be the signing of the summer.

In much the same way that £9m for Dempsey doesn't make too much sense; a 29 year old in the final year of his contract, the £10m figure being bandied about for Allen makes no sense either. IMO he's a £20m player and could become worth a lot more. I suppose if we get the 2 of them for a combined fee of £20m it would balance itself out.
 
I like Allen who is already a top player that will only improve. Swansea won't be letting him go without a fight. I have him for 10M in a heartbeat.
 
Isn't he a defensive midfielder, playing the same position as Lucas? I agree with Mark, sell Adam and Aquilani!

Leon britton was swansea defensive mid. Allen is a lovely link player with vision

STILL want to know exactly how we know he's signing for us

Rodgers rates him but Laudrup recently commented that if a big bid comes in for him, he would consider setting aside the one year transfer embargo agreed between Rodgers and Swansea. This suggests that Laudrup possibly has a ready made replacement waiting in the wings.

I don't think he said that ... I thought he said that if a big offer comes in, they'd be willing to sell and if that's the case, it would seem that Liverpool can get involved in the bidding ...
