What has gone wrong?
Up to Christmas he looked like everything we had been missing for years a good solid left back that was half decent going forward, he is now a liability.

He's been very good this season. Looked tired after Christmas and couldnt get a rest due to Aurelio and Robinson were injured.

Even if his form dropped I expect him to develop further next season.
Our defence is solid and not the part of the team that should concern us.

The fact he's always been poor going forward, is naive as a defender, lacks pace and has a brain the size of a pea.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree then mate. Apart from the point you make about him going forward, i don't think he was showing any of those traits when he was consistently one of our better performers.

I don't know how anyone can suggest he lacks pace.

I think he made a couple of mistakes at the start of the new year which led to us conceding and its played on his mind since. Hes not as decisive now and fumbles around in possession instead of getting the basics right. A summer break might sort him out with a bit of luck.

Its not hilarious. You were just wrong, and when discussing a player its okay to get the facts right.

Anyhoo, there are currently only 2 teams in the entire Premiership with a better defensive record than us. But, 2 of the bottom 3 clubs that will probably get relegated, have scored more goals than us. Its not our left back that should be our main concern.

even when he was on form i was never fully convinced by his defensive abilities, especially considering how stupidly slow he is to read things and react sometimes . But he was getting away with it and did look fairly decent but i'm not surprised he's dipped . and i wouldn't be surprised if he can't get his form back again but here's hoping he does because we've enough problem positions .

and you can't have a go at johnson for his defensive mishaps and not question this lad also .

He hasn't though. He's either been really good, or really shit.

He was brilliant in the first half of the season(mostly) but has went off the boil since.

It's infuriating the way he holds on to the ball for too long and tries to take everyone on before realsiing the ball, plays more like a winger.

Pity he wasn't more like Aurelio who isn't as quick or strong an Enrique but knows when to release the ball and pick out a team-mate.

I disagree. He was pure class in many of our games in the early part of the season. Quick, powerful, defended well, attacked at every opportunity and generally looked like a great buy.

His form has dipped though, no doubt about it. Needs to up his game next season and with Aurelio leaving in the summer, we could do with a new left back.
