Here we go. Just like I suspected:

============

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has undergone a head scan due to the club’s fears he suffered a concussion during the Champions League final.

Karius has come under major scrutiny after his errors saw the Reds suffer a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Kyiv, handing the Spanish side two goals.

The first came when he rolled the ball too close to Karim Benzema, with the striker opening the scoring with an opportunistic effort, before fumbling Gareth Bale’s long-range shot late on.
Shortly before Benzema’s goal, however, Karius was left sprawled in the box following a collision with Real defender Sergio Ramos.
Ramos appeared to have deliberately elbowed the stopper in the side of the head during a Real corner, with Karius’ appeals falling on deaf ears.
The officials’ lack of concern was mirrored by UEFA, who declined to investigate both that issue and Ramos’ challenge that left Mohamed Salahunable to play down due to a shoulder injury.
Now, ESPN‘s Mark Ogden reports that Karius was ordered to undergo a scan to determine whether he had experienced head trauma, with Liverpool concerned he had a concussion.

Crucially it is stressed that this was at the club and FSG’s behest, with Karius travelling to Boston on May 31 to visit a specialist, before a planned break in California.
The result are unclear, and it may seem a convenient development given the level of criticism aimed at the German, but it is not unfeasible he was concussed.
Ogden adds that Karius is due to join up with the Liverpool squad for pre-season training on July 2.

Concussion or not, I don't believe that wholly contributes to his brain freeze for the first goal. We all know he had it him or was capable of shit like that.

Bullshit. He was not doing shit like that, or the Bale goal, which is why he had the most clean sheets in the EPL since replacing Mignolet. This was so out of character that I suspected concussion even before I knew about the Ramos elbow (I missed that moment during the game). He was disoriented.

It certainly explains a lot, but it doesnt make the final loss any easier to take.

What a crock of shit.
The club just starting up the spin that Karius isnt in fact a dog.

100% sure he will be starting next season now.

Shite.

No, it makes it worse. Reopens the wound. Which is why I suspect some are tempted to take a less painful road by blaming Karius and saying that he's always been shit. That's easier to take, but not true.

I know you suspected it as i remember discussing it on here. True he had been better, we have seen that. But moments in games he has flapped or was rash, namely in Roma home game. These are forgotten about as we have won. Also he's better protected with VVD organising defence more. He would always try and punch balls rather than catch, often or not they were good. I just think if it was that bad he would have said something at the time, or certainly his team mates might have done.

Well, to be fair, if you're concussed you're not necessarily fully aware of how you are. It's part of the problem. I don't see how his teammates would be aware - they had other things to focus on.

Which incidentally I dont mind.
But dont fucking market the cunt to me. I KNOW what he is. A mid teir keeper

Can we separate those 2 things please? Everybody knows that Karius is not quite in Oblak's league as a keeper – but that doesn't mean he deserves to be pilloried and abused by own own fans (I don't mean you) because it turns out he played with a concussion after being elbowed in the head by the Spanish ubercunt.

He should have insisted on being checked by medics though; a more experienced player would.

Indeed. It also points a finger to our medical team for not noticing it.

It's odd that many keepers seem naive about such things these days. Jack Butland fractured his ankle while playing for England and conceded a goal because he tried to hobble on rather than fall down.

You would be if it's a bad enough concussion. Chatting to him after incident and there after during games, players would pick up on it

No it doesn't. Hardly anyone noticed it even after replays on TV. How on earth do you notice that from the dug out? You can't just run on whenever you fancy.

Indeed. It is not like rugby where as part of protocols, there are members of the team studying replays of incidents during the game as its ongoing to pick up on potential. Incidents.
