Either, I dont care.

He said give him ten games, theres no signal of anything, no style, tactics, anything.

I think long term we need a young manager with vision like a Deschamp, Riijkaard or Loew.

Short term however we need someone with experience to get us out of this shit, like a Hiddink, MONg or Kenny.

Roy Hodgson's job safe says new Liverpool FC co-owner Tom Werner

Oct 17 2010

Liverpool FC's new co-owner Tom Werner insists manager Roy Hodgson's job is safe and he will be given transfer funds.

Fellow co-owner John W Henry has also given his backing to Hodgson, whose side have picked up only six points from their opening seven Barclays Premier League games.

Werner, the chairman of New England Sports Ventures, who bought the Merseyside club for £300million this weekend, said: "He (Hodgson) needs to be given time. We have a lot of confidence in Roy."

He added: "Nobody can be pleased about the start of the season but the club ought to gel. We had a nice chat with him yesterday (Saturday) and look forward to talking to him tomorrow."

Werner, who revealed the new owners would be meeting supporters' representatives on Monday, added: "The one prescription for disaster is to lurch to the left and lurch to the right.

"We see no reason why Roy can't be our coach this year and in the future. We're certainly going to give him time.

"I don't want to make too many promises except that we expect the fortunes of the club to improve."

When asked if the owners would be providing Hodgson with "reasonable" funds, Werner replied: "Yes, absolutely."

I don't understand why people wouldn't take O'Neill, I get the fact he is a cunt but he's a cunt who's done well everywhere he's been and if he where here he'd be our cunt so wouldn't annoy us so much.

I'd take him as I think he's the best available at the moment.

Was this before or after the game?

Surely the new owners will pick up the negativity around Roy and start afresh.

We can forget the Champions League this year, so this season has to be one of transition with a minimum requirement of not getting relegated.

The sooner we get in a new, fresh manager who can use this season as a bedding in period, the better.

I'm not particularly arsed about keeping any of our current players. Reina has a 6 year contract so he can wait. Gerrard is too old to leave now. And, sad as I am to say it, losing Torres on his form for the last year, would be no great loss if he wants to go. However, I wouldnt get rid of him just because we can.

If Shelvey and Wilson are 2 of the most promising young talents around, then get them in the fucking team and give them some experience. Same with Kelly.

We keep get given lifelines in a chance to catch up to the top 4 and we keep blowing it. Soon it will be out of sight. It's getting that way already. I hoped for/expected top 4 this season and that's how it should be. Torres will leave if we don't get into the Champions League next season, and no matter what anybody says he hasn't become a bad player overnight. We desperately need to keep our best players here and attract new ones.

If we stand a chance of getting 4th Hodgson has to go now. Let Kenny take over until we decide on an appointment. That's not without massive apprehension and trepidation with regards to Kenny these days, but he'll command respect from the players and will go out with a positive mindset at least. Who knows the club better than him? We need to get back to our roots.

I can't see the point in getting O'Neill in and I doubt he'd take it if he knew he only had til the end of the season. Give Kenny a go and then look to install a young hungry manager that reflects the vision of the new owners.

You can understand it from their perspective. They have no clue about football and they've just taken over. It of course makes sense for them to have a look at things and get some sound advice from football people before making a move. Unfortunately, until now they've probably been briefed by Broughton and Purslow who appointed Hodgson in the first place. So it's unlikely they would have gotten a a negative report.

Also, I don't know if they realise the implications of a poor season for a club in football. In American sports, the playing field is far more level than it is in football with a salary cap and the draft. Hell, there are teams who 'tank' games to get a good shot at the draft. It's from that perspective far easier to revive a poor team in the American leagues. That's unfortunately not the case in the EPL at all. If we have a poor season, we'll have a mass exodus of players, and these people aren't sugar daddys that they can buy us a whole new team. It's imperative that they realise this immediately and get a sound football person on board and make the right decisions regarding personnel. Giving Hodgson more time and money to squander might turn out to be very very costly for them.

this season is a write off, if the new owners have a long term plan and a long term version they may as well put it into action now. roy patently isn't the guy to take us forwards so why wait? giving roy money in jan is pissing money down the fucking drain.

MON?! Get to fuck Mark, he's a fucking cunt & his teams play shit football.
[/quote]

Like I said though, as a stop gap till the end of the season, who are we going to bring in now? I

And I'm sick of this bollocks about defensive football, we're playing 'nothing' football, it's neither defensive or offensive, it's nothing, it's turgid. MON will at least stabilise us till the end of the season, the more interesting option is of course Kenny, but either are better than Hodgson.

Agreed.

Bloody hate his interviews too..

MONg isn't going to accept a contract until the end of the season, and I wouldn't want him to.

Get Dalglish in and see what he can do.

I hope someone explains the concept of relegation to Henry.

MON please.

He would getting us winning again which right now is the no1 priority!

We have not got many options.

Kenny hasn't managed a winning side in 15 years.

MONg over Dalglish?

No fucking chance. Get him in until the season finishes. The fans deserve it.
