And what happens if Dalglish takes over and we're still shit? What happens if after 8 games under Dalglish, we're still no fucking better off?

Does he get the "cunt" treatment too?

Just checking what rules apply here so I can be sure y'know.

Are you still excited about our return to the Top 4 Dreamy?
Things are looking bleak now eh?

Having said that no team bar Chelsea looks that good this season though do they?

Get the right man in soon and we could well still be amongst it by seasons end.

I don't think anyone could have forseen Roy to be this bad. We deserve to be in the bottom 3 at the moment.

This was you 3 weeks ago Dreamy:

"We look like a footballing side again for the first time in years. The results will come and we will get 4th.
I guarantee when we look at the table in 3 months we’ll be nestled in the top 4. Positive signs? Of course there are.
And that’s not even mentioning the exciting youth prospects."

The "cunt" treatment is just a coping mechanism and we're entitled to it.

Take away the ridiculousness in the media and I'm sure he'd be getting less stick than he is now. If a manager wants to act *that* out of touch with the fans though, I've got no sympathy for him.

For all those saying MON wouldn't accept a contract to the end of the season, he has always accepted rolling 1 year contracts, so this is little different. He gets the chance to prove he is good enough. That said, I don't want him.

If you can't discern the difference between Kenny Dalglish and Roy Hodgson, there's really no point.

First of all, welcome back.

The answer to your question is "no". The King has earned his Liverpool royalty status, whereas Roy came in with lower expectations than most new Liverpool managers face and has managed to fail to come up to even those.

As for the possibility that things might not improve, there isn't a manager in football to whom that wouldn't apply. Every new appointment is a risk, in whatever circs. Sometimes, though, the biggest risk of all is doing nothing. Right now that applies to us in spades.

You're right about that, but it is a valid concern.

Look at Souness.
Name a team that MON has managed that hasn't won games and lots of them?
he signs wingers too, that can't be a bad thing
Yeah, & Heskey & John Carew too.

MON can suck my hairy balls.

Why would we look to only appoint someone til the end of the season? If we get rid of Roy surely we'd be looking to gain some stability at the club by appointing a manger to who can start to build for the future.

This thread makes no sense.

Tad bit harsh no? Three weeks ago we all probably presumed to have more points than we do now. No one expected us to lose to Blackpool and many 'hoped' for a Derby win. We could have done with those 6 points and it would have taken us to the top half of the table.

Despite saying that, DB does shoot himself in the foot due to his over zealous optimism. Top four? I'd take top ten.

I don't understand what peoples problem with MON is? Every club he's been with he's done well. Think of Leicester before he went there, while he was there, and then after he left. With Celtic he transformed them into a team that ended Rangers dominance overnight pretty much. Think of where Villa were when he took over from Dave O'Leary!

I think a lot of Liverpool fans don't like him because of the way he reacted to our pursuit of Gareth Barry. I wouldn't blame for that, as any manager who wanted to hold on to their player would react the same.

If he were to come in to this job, I imagine he would get us playing as a team and to our strengths straight away.

He hasn't won anything of note outside of Scotland.

He also wasted cash at Villa.

I'm not interested in him.

Im not a big fan of the guy although i was in the minority who believed he was a better bet than Hodsgon this summer. In fairness was he expected to win much at Wycombe, Leicester and Villa?

Maybe not, but I would like our new manager to have actually won some silverware at some point, or be young and displaying all the signs that he will go on to lift lots of trophies.

It's a useful criteria for a manager, which we wrongly neglected this summer.

His net spend at Villa was 80 mill or something, and he didn't use his squad enough. It could be said that his counterattacking style will also come unstuck at a big club. I actually like him as a person, though I think there is a lot of bollocks talked about him, like he is a great man manager. More players snipe about MON than just about any manager in the English game, and reportedly he's more hands off than Benitez by far- one player said about him that he hardly saw him from Saturday to Saturday with Robertson handling all the training through the week.

That said, he definitely would have been better than Budgie.

I'm no MON fan, but he was brilliant at Wycombe, he took us up two seasons on the trott from the then Conference to the second division.

I don't mind MON but why trade one average manager for another. Kenny is my preferred choice for emotional and sentimental reasons.

I don't understand all this nonsense about not managing in the top flight for 20 years. The last time I checked, football was still played by a team of 11 players.

It's a much different game though mate than it was 20 years ago. I know what you're saying about it being a game played by 11 players, but the 11 players who take to the field are a much different kettle of fish to the average player 20 years ago.

Four different people have now told me that Rikjaard is signing on Friday. I know we're assuming this came from tribal or wherever but why do all the scousers think its true?
Anyone?
Appara he has left Galatasaray and our board are elbowing mad arse after the Napoli defeat and Franks yer man!

Did Mark have anything to say on the matter?

Someone PM me if there is any juicy gossip.
